Product recommendations for 3b hair?

My hair is mostly 3b but a little thicker than what seems to be described there. It is VERY dry. Top product recs from the experts? Thanks! :o

The Curl Junkie line was very moisturizing for me. If it weren't for it having issues with my hair dye, I'd still use it.

It had great moisturization and made my curls springy. My hair is thick and fairly coarse, and this kept it pretty soft.

It depends on how easily weighed down your hair is. Jessicurl and the Curl Junkie banana hibiscus conditioner were way too moisturizing for my hair. Deva and Ouidad work well. I don't use either anymore, but I had a lot of success when I did. I use Elucence, now, and it's pretty good. My Mop Top products are on the way, and I have high hopes for them.

I also love Joico's Whip, Curl Junkie's leave-in for fine hair, and Osis Curl Bounce Liquid.

I really like Elucence Moisture Balance conditioner. I've tried some other things, and keep going back to this. Makes my hair nice and moisturized. I also like mixing some honey in with it occasionally.

Also, not sure what you're using for styling products, but I don't use products with SD-alcohols and isopropanol. They are very drying for me. And I avoid silicones like the plague! After continued use, I end up with very dry and damaged hair.

My hair is very 3B, very long, & very dry. Also frizz prone. It's very healthy -- it's just all these quintessential 3B things too. :)

I don't care for Elucence. It had zero detangling for me, & left my hair feeling matted. Jessicurl left my curls strangely flat. Coconut oil increases my frizz, tho does add softness. Shea butter does the same. These ingred's make my hair feel great -- but decrease definition & up the frizz. I have to add a strong hold gel over top.

My faves
Garnier Fructis Leave-in (has made the biggest difference in moisture & frizz)
GF rinse-out (not as amazing as the leave-in, but very close to One C)
One C (great moisture & detangling)
LaCoupe Shine & Smooth Silky Smoothing Conditioner (very silky & lots of moisture)
Curl Junkie anything (lots of moisture, but little help with frizz)

B&A gel
is the most moisturizing I've tried, but it does loosen & elongate curl
Angell is good, if you don't live in humidity or need much hold
Biosilk gel is good, & as long as I use a leave-in or cream underneath, no dryness --that's true for most gels
Herbal Essence gels are all cheap & decent: none are drying, but with mediocre hold
CurlKeeper (did not have luck with this one, but many 3B's love it for adding moisture & frizz control)

Thanks for all the advice, curlies! I am currently in the process of moving away from cones and I moved away from alcohol a while ago, knowing it was drying. I currently use Devacurl stuff and hated it until I learned about plopping and now like it ok. My JessiCurls loot from this site just arrived today (before stuff I ordered from other sites earlier! What great service!) and I am psyched to try it out tonight! This forum has already changed my curl life and I am excited to try out all the new techniques over the coming months.

Migs, have you noticed that there are boards for the different hair types? If you hop on over to the 3b board, you may find some additional tips.
