what does PEG 8 listed by Dimethicone on labels mean?

My subject line says it all. I recently bought two products that have dimethicone peg 8 on the ingredients list.

Is this water soluble? Will co washes or Jessicurl HCC get this out?

Thanks!
Sherry
From what I understand any cone with "PEG" means it is water soluble so a co-wash should get it out.

Cowash - No Poo, Suave Coconut
Conditioner - One Condition
Leave In - KCKT
Gel - KCCC at the moment
Thank you, Hockeymom!

I posted about the two products I used with peg-8 on another thread.

They were both from Sally's-Naturelle Gel and Ion Curl Creme-they worked great together! I'm so glad to find cheap products that I like. Okay, I've only used them once, but I hope they continue to work.

Take care,
Sherry
I hope they keep working for you too!!

Good question.
I am wondering if PPG -icones are water soluble too?
I am also wondering just what on earth PEG and PPG stand for?

Thanks. Seems like they are both soluble then?
