Frizz...what could be causing it?
I have recently noticed my curls aren't staying together while my hair dries. I just can't figure out why...
I've read the article on frizz and I thought I had 'in curl frizz'. I took a look at my products and the only change I had made was I began using Tresemme Nautrals. I then thought I had build up, so I did a low poo. But I still have frizz.
The pictures were taken today (2nd day hair). I wasn't able to upload those taken while my hair was drying.
We've been having some low dews, but I don't know if that is the culprit.
Any ideas my fellow curlies?????

Frizz is usually caused by a lack of moisture.
Have you tried sealing with some oil or adding a leave in conditioner? Using an emollient rinse out conditioner?
Try adding more moisture and see how your hair responds. Whenever I get frizz likes yours, I add a little more leave in over the top of my hair or use a few drops of oil to tame. It really helps.

It looks to me like 1 or 2 things but maybe a combo of the two.
#1 You're touching your hair a lot while it's drying. I'm guilty of this too. I touch it to see if it's dry every 5 minutes and I wind up with tons of frizz.
#2 You're using glycerin products in low dew points. I have to switch my products for winter. I can't use stuff like Ecostyler or LALSG during the winter because of the glycerin. I use BRHG instead.

Could you be overconditioned?

This is what I was thinking. I had tried the Spritz & Condish method (again) to try and reduce my drying time. I used Tresemme Naturals. The first time was awesome, the next few times, blah!
Tonight I cowashed and used my Suave Coconut as a RO & HESMU for a styler. So far, not as much frizz. Of course it's raining so the frizz factor will prolly change. I thought about using IAGirls PT this weekend for a boost.

I use Biotera Leave-In Conditioner (I put it in at night all over my hair, but right now I'm talking about just using it for frizz if that makes sense). I put it in a spray bottle and dilute it with some water. When I spray it on my curls, it takes the frizz away. Your hair is very shiny and beautiful!

so is this frizz or flyaway hair?
I'm confused...do I have a frizz or flyaway problem? Also my hair is feeling kinda mushy and I know from past experience that my hair needs a hit of protein.
So, if I need protein...other than doing a PT....what is the best way to get consistent protein into my hair....should I be looking for conditioners with proteins (whether RO or LI) or stylers with protein? Because I use LALSG every now and then and when my hair dries it is really really really really crunchy.... Does anyone have any other product recommendations?
Also - for those of you that have done IAGirl's PT...I noticed on her blog that she states you can't over do it by using her PT...I see the protein is from gelatin so what kind of protein is this? Is it gentle, middle of the road, or harsh?

Yeah, you can use a conditioner with protein, and it may help. You will know if you get a protein-overload by the way your hair reacts. I would say to gradually increase the amount of protein until you feel like your hair is balanced.
I don't know if what you have is frizz or flyaways, but your hair looks healthy. You may have to change your gel or something. My hair does things like that when it's time for a product change. So much trial and error, huh?

Oh yeah, if you are wanting a good curl cream, Biotera has one if you haven't already tried it.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I've been on the hunt for a good curl cream.
I just tried IAGirls PT and I'm glad I only did a small part of the underside of my hair. It felt dry afterward and my curls didn't come back to life (even after a quick DT) like they did after I used the ION Reconstruct.
I want to ask you...for the Boitera LI spray you use...what is the ratio? I thought about a 50/50 to begin with...but since I don't regularly use protein on my hair, I'm afraid that might be too much. Maybe I should start at 80/20.

The gelatin in IAGirl's PT is collagen protein, but I'm not sure exactly where that ranks as far as protein strength goes. My hair absolutely loved it though.

On the Biotera leave in I started using it straight, but it was too much, I think I do about 50/50, maybe 60 leave-in/40 water. I would say start low and increase as needed. I started too high, so it would have been better if I started low.
