Dyed Blonde Curlies?

I want a color change. I have light brown hair with natural blonde highlights. I want to go all blond. I have been blonde in the past, but it was when I wore my hair straight so I have no idea how my curls will respond. Back then, I did regular DTs. The damage was minimal and seemed to be mostly due to the heat since it didn't/doesn't take much to lighten my hair.

If you are dyed blonde, did you go all blonde all at once or gradually? (I think I'm going to go gradually but will see what the stylist says.) Did it effect your curl pattern any and if so how? Do you do anything special to keep your hair healthy? How often do you have to get your hair colored?

I am going to get a cut/shape-up with the color and the person I am going to is a curly hair pro so I feel like I'm in safe hands, but want some reassurance that I can do this without totally killing my hair.

I didn't get any replies but thought I would update. I got my highlights and because of my natural hair color he didn't have to use bleach and the highlights are very bright. My curl pattern is exactly the same and it looks AWESOME. I plan to go more blonde at some point, but I'm very happy now. He also shingled my hair, which I have never tried, and I have PERFECT curls. OMG, technique really is everything!

Anyway, if you have light hair and want to go blonde, it shouldn't be a big deal or too damaging.
