After 27 years...finally... good hair!!!!

I just have to share...it has taken me SOOOO long with sooo many different products and techniques and tools and I have finally found my winning combination!! So hopefully this knowledge can help someone else too!

First of all, my hair type- I think is 3a- very fine, and s curly. Over the years I have discovered that my hair doesn't like silicones, protein or sulfates.

So here is what I have found:
Shampoo once a week with l'oreal eversleek intensive smoothing shampoo

Condition daily with either l'oreal eversleek intensive smoothing conditioner or garnier fructis triple condition conditioner

ACV rinse once a week

Kinky curly spiral spritz 3 pumps evenly distribute right after rinsing conditioner

Wrap up with flour sack towel

Smooth la looks gel over canopy and then scrunch into each side and back of head

Clip with more la looks

Let dry under my hood drier for about 20 min

Diffuse for 5 min

Flip head over and shake out with fingers and scrunch a bit to finish...

And my hair has never looked better!!!!!

How exciting! Hope this helps someone...and whatever you do...don't give up!
Hair that freely borrows from 3a/ 3b texture schools. These are the things I use to care for it:
  • Apple Cider Vinegar rinses weekly
  • shampoos occasionally that do not contain sulfates
  • conditioners without silicones or proteins (or so I think- Keratin seems to do ok)
  • Flour sack towel
And I dont even know what else right now...thinking I may need to drop gels altogether...

Currently have Shea Moisture and DevaCurl products that I may just need to give up on and cut as a loss...

3a, s curly, fine hair that hates sulfates, silicones, and Protiens!

I have finally found affordable and attractive contentment using:

You are beautiful!
Thanks! At first I used the clear sport la looks gel but now I have been using the nutracurl- which dries a lot softer and I like better! It's so nice to use as much gel as you want/need without being worried about the cost!!
I don't think anything I'm using has proteins...but please correct me if I'm wrong!

Congrats Summersover - This site was a blessing for me. I never liked my hair until I found nc.com ... and even then there was lots of effort and money spent before I found products that worked and a hair routine that gave me consistent results.

A word of caution about a product line mentioned in your signature. The Kevin Murphy line often contains mineral oil. If you find you are getting buildup on your hair and can't understand what is causing it, it is likely the mineral oil in Kevin Murphy. I used to use their products, but had to stop completely. It ruined my hair if I used anything with mineral oil.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
