LA Looks Nutra Curl & Care Free Curl Gel Activator Lite?

Has anyone tried either of these? I went to my local CVS and saw these two products and ended up getting them and am very excited to add them to my bathroom stash :). Also noticed pink Ecostyler, which I had never seen before, but I wanted to try these first. Next time I'll get the Suave Professionals Dry Conditioner and the Ecostyler.

The LA Looks is like a lime green color and says it's a moisturizing gel and has mega hold (I'm hoping my hair likes it).
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), PVP, Polyquaternium-11, Carbomer, Panthenylethyl Ether, PEG-11 Avacado Glycerides, Phenoxyethanol, Aminomethyl Propanol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Methylparaben, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Benzophenone-4, Methylisothiazolinone, Parfum
To me, it kind of has a subtle, nice smell, but if you're sensitive to smells, you might want to sniff it before you get it.

The Care Free Curl claims to be non-greasy "with aloe vera for moisture retention"
Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Capryly Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis/Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, PEG-12 Dimenthicone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Benzoate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene
This one definitely has a bit of a scent, but not super strong; the best way to describe it would be a "clean" scent. The consistency is like a loose clear gel, and it's in a tub in the ethnic hair section.

Also, can anyone who is good at reading ingredients make sure these are CG? I'm okay at looking at ingredients, and nothing stuck out at me as being bad, but I want to make sure before I used them.

I don't know if it's CG but I've been using the nutra curl. I like it. Good hold without being crunchy. But I find that I have to use a lot to have some hold.

Both products are CG. The Care Free Curl does have a water soluble cone, which might be an issue for some people. I've never tried it, so I can't speak from personal experience. I have used Nutra Curl though. I like it, but I've found that I prefer stronger hold gels.

I think I'll like the Nutra Curl and the Care Free Curl, but I'll definitely need to top them off with BRHG. Neither seems to have much hold. I'm hoping that I can switch those off for KCCC with how expensive it is.

That's kind of what I do--I use the Nutra Curl for a quick everyday look and use my HG arsenal when I know I'm going out or something.

Corrina, what do you combine with CJ PP? Also what do you combine with Curl Keeper? and how do those turn out?

Pretty much my hair routine is always LI, curl cream, gel. I've been using Re:coil as my curl cream in most cases. If I use CJPP I get best results mixing it with a drop of BRHG and applying over Re:coil. I don't use the Curl Keeper everyday- only when I'm really trying to give my curls extra oomph. I comb it through my hair after Re:coil and before Biotera Gel (I haven't tried any other combos with this). I've gotten good results with both of these, but I've seen mixed reviews on Curl Keeper from others.

LA Looks Nutra Curl & Care Free Curl Gel Activator lite?

So I'm not the only one who finds that I have to use a LOT of the Nutra Curl to get as much hold as I like(since my hair is on the finer side of medium, but plentiful in the amount of hair that I have, I do need hold). Back to the LA Looks Sports Gel which is easier to find anyway. Plus I like the fact that it comes in travel-sized tubes!

So just wanted to post an update, in case anyone is curious. While I've only used them a few times, I've had pretty good results so far. I've used the Care Free Curls Gel Activator Lite twice (once with AVG + BRHG and once with Nutra Curl + BRHG) and the Nutra Curl once (since I've only used the Nutra Curl once, I'll wait to judge it after I try it a few more times)

Care Free Curls: I really like this product, but I'm not sure whether it's making a huge difference or not (even though may not sound like an issue, my hair is pretty agreeable and tends to like most products, so while I never have terrible results, I also never have amazing results). It does seem to make my waves stay a little longer, and doesn't seem like it will build up on my fine hair. Once I finish the jar, I will probably buy another one, as long as it continues to work as well as it has the last two times.
