After Many Years Of Straightening...

After many years of straightening I decided to sport my naturally (what I think is 4a type) hair. It was pretty curly when it was wet, but as it dried...it looks almost as if I blow dried it.

Is it possible that after 2-3 years of flat ironing, that it's gotten permanently straighter?
After many years of straightening, it's likely dry and damaged. Been there, done that! Your hair needs moisture and some TLC. You won't see the full potential of your curls until you get back in good condition. It can take some time to find the right products for your hair but you've taken an important first step by stopping the damage from the flat iron. Be patient, read, experiment and read some more. You'll find some great info on products, techniques and styling tips here.

* sorry my phone is acting up hahah.

But yeah I used to straighten it all my life but have been letting it curl for over 2 years now. My curls look so much better than they did back when I first let it go natural. It'll slowly get better :] I love my hair now. Embrace your curls!!!!
Sounds like mine heat damage...do deep conditions weekly and try to let it air dry.my hair hasn't completely gotten back but it looks better compared to last yr.
