Default Biolage Rock Hard Gelee alternative?

This is the only styling aid that seems to work the best on my 3B thick, bulky tight ringlets. I've tried so many others - I haven't used shampoo in ages, sometimes use an ACV rinse before I condition. I feel like I'm doing all the right things, but still sometimes get that 'fuzzy' look once it dries, especially if there's more humidity in the air.

I use the Rock Hard Gelee right in the shower after rinsing on sopping wet hair, then I plop it in a microfiber turban being careful not to twist the hair. It seems like I'm doing everything like I should be doing but I could be missing something here.

Sometimes I just don't use enough of the Rock Hard Gelee, so it doesn't dry properly and I get that halo frizz.

Just wondering if any other Rock Hard Gelee lover found an alternative? I believe there are cones in this product so I'd love to make a switch, I just need something with pretty heavy hold.

I have 3B tight curls, with very thick hair.

Hi. I love BRHG but I combine it with other gels. I am currently having great success in humid Florida with Biotera gel from Sally's. With wet hair in shower I apply Biotera. Then apply BRHG over that. Air dry. I have also used Garnier Pure Clean Gel with BHRG but that combo is not as good on humid days. Good luck!!!

Hi!! I am a fellow Floridian (Miami), recently joined the board. I'm still trying to find a way to deal with the humidity-created frizz. Any luck so far in your search?

HESMU is close.

LALPS is decent, too, but not as good.

I second the mixing gels - LALS mixed with a bit of BRHG is great.

I can't do the sopping wet thing. It waters the product too much for me. I do it with hair barely dripping.

2c/3a/3b, Fine/med, Dense, high porous, & normal elas.

Lo-poo - Renpure Keratin, SMR, Giovanni SaS
clarifying - mix Johnson's H2T with low poo
Co-wash - Suave Nats. clar. or coco.
RO - GVPCB, Ion Eff. Care, TN.
LI - SMR, Cure Care, or RO
Seal - MO or Jojoba
DT - + honey, ACV, & EVOO to SM masque & GVPCB
PT - Gelatin!, CNPF
Styling - FSG, AIF, BRHG, LALS/PS, GF curl spray gel, SM Souffle/Smoothie, LOOB
Oils - MO!, EVOO, jojoba, GSO, SM Elixer, EVCO, VO5 Hairdressing

When I use a bunch of FSG on soaking wet hair, followed by Biotera Gel and BRHG, I rarely have too much frizz unless I touch my hair before it's dry. I'm in the Seattle area, so it's a different kind of climate, but the rain, mist, damp air, etc definitely messes with my hair.

BTW, according to the product reviews, BRHG is cone free.

But, I'd also like to find a less expensive super hard hold gel.

Have 2 suggestions for you.
1- LA Looks power spikes. Much cheaper than BHRG with super hard hold. I use it over regular gel to add hold.

2- Garnier Fructis Super Stiff Gel. I also layer this to add hold to regular gel. Comes in tube so won't last as long as huge bottle of la looks. This has the hold but it's not like regular gel. It's very sticky -- like THICK FSG but it works.
3a/b, fine texture, low porosity, normal elasticity, mod-CG 7/11/11

Poo: KC Come Clean, SM Moisture Retention
CO: CJ Curl Rehab, CJ Argan & Olive Oil, Renpure Argan Oil, YTCucumbers, Sevi Pumpkin
Style: AIF, HESMU, Biolage gelee, KCCC
LOOB for second day hair

Like BS/ACV rinses, limit protein/humectants.
