Help!!!

Ladies I need some serious help.

My hair over the past 2 years had developed a wave to it and I decided to up the ante a little bit and get a perm.

I have fine to medium hair, that is now some where between a 2b and 2c.

Since getting the perm my hair is frizzy, which I knew could happen, but the worst part is no matter what product I use my hair is a matted mess by the end of the day and I can't do second day hair. Some strands are tight spirals and other are almost straight and no matter how I try to separate them the clump back together. My hair looks dull and is completely unmanageable and I have actually restored to straightening my hair. I can't find the balance to having nice, light weight curls/waves.

So far I have used (some was from when my hair wasn't permed)
Burt's Bees Super Shinny Shampoo
Burt's bees More moisture conditioner
VOZ moisture milks conditioner
HE totally twisted conditioner
Infusium 23 leave in for chemically treated hair
Giovonni direct leave in
Sauve green apple conditioner
Kinky Curly Curling custard
totally twisted gel
totally twisted mousse
aloe vera
plopping
scrunching product in
raking product in
rinsing with cool water
wide tooth combs
apple cider vinegar rinse- I will say after the rinse my hair was super soft.

my routine so far has been:
co wash with VO5
condition ends with BB more moisture or totally twisted
scrunch out excess water until hair is damp, at this step I notice my waves are really messy and clumpy
use some HE gel
Plop for 20-30 min, once I take it down I arrange my hair and don't touch it again.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I need some serious hairapy and fast.

My hair prior to the perm used to not take to high protein products but I am thinking that maybe I should try one? maybe an oil treatment?

I would try a protein treatment followed by a deep conditioning treatment. The protein could help with any potential damage from the perm. The DT would reverse any dryness you might get from the protein and also cover for any moisture issues.

Do you rotate in a sulfate shampoo or a cleanser with coco betaine? I noticed you said that you sometimes use HETT conditioner, which has cones. If you're strictly co-washing, you could have cone buildup, which would absolutely contribute to the frizzies.

I've never used VO5 or Burt's Bees products, so I can't comment on them specifically (I know there are a lot of people who use VO5 and Burt's Bees, but I'm not sure of which specific products).

I try not to use sulfates but my unpermed hair looooooved sulfates, made it so shiny and soft.

I am not sure if the same is true now, I tried a sulfate wash and it didn't really do anything.

I have only used the HETT once and didn't really care for it.

I only poo my hair once a week and that is with the BB super shiny and most of the time I use the VO5 and the BB more moisture conditioner.

I am not sure if maybe the problem is all this conditioner and product is weighing my hair down, and causing some serious build up.

Through some more reading today I have deduced that I have fine hair that is porous so I am not sure what to use.

I have been looking up homemade recipes for protein treatments and found one that I am going to use tonight, it has avocado, honey, evoo and egg in it so here's hoping that works.

Have you used a homemade protein treatment?

What do you recommend as a DT afterward?

I was thinking of using the BB more moisture because it is super thick, or maybe the Ever Pure fortified conditioner, that is thick too.

thoughts?
I've been using IAGirl's PT every week for about a month now and the results have been amazing. Fine hair and high porosity hair both love protein, so chances are very good that your hair will like protein.

PT recipe - as promised

My personal favorite for DT is One n' Only Argan Hydrating mask. My hair feels like silk when I rinse it out. I think some people might just add some extra oil into a very rich conditioner like GVP Conditioning Balm.

Finding the moisture balance is absolutely the most challenging part of the whole process. I ended up over conditioned about a month after I officially started CG. And if the sulfate shampoo works and doesn't make your hair feel dry, there's nothing wrong with rotating it in if you feel like your hair does have buildup.

I tried a different recipe for a pt treatment (it was stuff I already had on hand) and I think my hair liked it.

It did feel like straw while washing it out so I threw on some BB more moisture conditioner and it helped some what.

I can't wait to see what it looks like once I get this in my routine and I follow up with an actual deep conditioning treatment.

now to battle the frizz.
