frizz between curls... is there a solution?

Hi curlies!

I've been CG for a couple months now, and I love it!! My hair is healthier and more manageable, and I feel like I can do more with it.

BUT... I still have some issues with frizz within the hair... like, between curls if that makes sense. I attached a picture - this is actually a good hair day, but you might be able to see what I mean.

I'm still experimenting with products and find that I need a harder hold gel. Glycerin has been a problem, but winter is very dry where I live, so this may not be an issue in the summer. I've tried Curl Keeper thinking that would eliminate some frizz, and I think it just took away volume but left the same amount of frizz.

Does anyone have any tips for eliminating these issues? I'm still trying to understand the moisture/protein balance... not sure if that will help me. My routine is in my sig!

Thank you

^^ Beautiful hair! I have no tips for you because I have the exact same problem, plus those errant stray hairs all over the top of my canopy. Just wanted to compliment you and I'm interested in what others have to say too, since I've yet to figure out the solution
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing
Poo: Giovanni 50:50
RO:TN, Nexxus Youth Renewal, Alba Coconut
LI: KCKT
PT: gelatin PT, ION EC
Stylers: Giovanni mousse, TIGI Curls Rock amplifier (a-cone), Curls Rock Strong Hold Mousse
Gels: SCC spray gel

Lo-poorganix Shea butter shampoo
Co-wash: suave coconut
Rinse out:GFTN/GVP conditioning balm
Leave in: GF daily care spray leave in
Serum-like product: still need one
Gel:LA looks sport gel/ HESMU,GFPC
Oils: olive, coconut

I think I'm normal-overly porous, medium-thick hair(although I see fine hair too), love protein
It's possible that your hair could use some protein. You may want to do a PT.

The other idea is to rotate products. My hair has always satiated on products, even back in the shampoo/conditioner only days. I wet, use a rinse out and style every day. Seldom use any one product more then once every five days.

Thank you lcl I am happy overall with my hair I just hope to make some progress with the frizz.

Kathy thank you for the protein advice! I found some ouidad botanical boost spray in my cabinet (full of protein) and gave my hair a good spritz, and it's looking better already!

I haven't experimented much with protein but now I know to give it a try

I use moisturizing PTs (CJ Repair Me, SS Protein Repair) so I don't need to DT when I'm done. I also use some of the "milder" PTs as my leave in (CJ Curl Fix, Mozeke Carrot, SSI Okra.)

My hair is without a doubt the frizzest hair! More so than any of you curlies that have posted in this thread. The AVC with cool water and a heavy leave in knot today really helps my hair with frizz, I have found no matter what I do I'm gonna have frizz. Also would like to mention I have also been using the kinky curly spritz and I mix all these products together and put them in wet but not dripping then air dry. I live in humid Tennessee so my hair also loves glycerin.
