Question What are my curl patterns?

Hi guys!

I am a newbie. Just did the big chop and I am relaxer free!! But I seem to have several different curl patterns going on!!! I am posting 3 pics. One of the front, the back and dry. Can you please tell me what each of them are? I have been getting a little depressed because I have no idea what products to use and it's mess trying to style it. I need some options

I thought I was a 3b, then a 3c then a 4a! Please help me

Thanks for your help~

While knowing your curl pattern is important, I think most people on these boards would agree that knowing your hair properties (i.e. texture, porosity, and elasticity) is more important in knowing your curl pattern as far as figuring out which products work.

Congrats on being relaxer free!!

Your hair might have just a little more growing to do before you can say for sure what the curl pattern is for purposes of hairstyles (which is what I still see is the benefit of considering curl patterns), but for purposes of knowing how to actually care for your hair, you'll want to spend time determining your hair properties (texture, porosity, density, elasticity). Because I was so anxious to know when I first went naturally curly, I got a hair analysis done (Live Curly Live Free - Home has a hair analysis service that I used.)

But even then, you'll want to pay attention to what works/doesn't work for *your* hair. You may find that there are generalities for some hair properties that just don't apply to your hair -- For example, fine hair "in general" likes protein, BUT I spend a LOT of time checking for proteins in products because my fine hair doesn't do at all well with certain proteins. Understanding that important fact about my hair only came to me from reading labels and paying attention to how my hair reacted to different products. Starting off, you might find it helpful to keep a hair diary (what products used, specific of hair care routines you're trying, dew points, how your hair is reacting, how long it's growing, etc.) I did that for the first few month after going naturally curly, and it really helped my learning curve.
