Lightbulb Do You Want a "Modified CG" Forum?

A note to anyone who follows a modified CG method or is thinking that their hair would be better off modifying the CG method:
NC.com will add a "Modified CG" forum to CurlTalk if there's interest in having a forum specifically for Mod CGers to share modification recommendations, modified routines and products, request help from other Mod CGers, report what part of CG is working/what part isn't working, etc.

Gretchen, et al with nc.com, will gauge interest and take it from there -- So post if you're interested.

I myself try to stay fairly close to CG but am certainly open to modifying the method as needed to benefit my hair, and I know I could learn a lot from others who already have.

I don't think we need a separate FORUM, but perhaps a sub forum? You know... There are sub forums for 2, 3a, protein craving, protein sensitive... Put a Mod-cg area there, perhaps? Maybe put a "strict cg" one, as well.

I know there were also several girls wanting a "wurly" area, too. For those who have both waves and curls, or are 2c/3a.

I think that would be an excellent idea and will help people swap ideas much more easily. Plus, those who are full CG can benefit as well, should they need to transition to a more modified routine for whatever reason. It's always nice to have all of the pertinent information in one location.

Actually we're talking about the same thing "Forum/Sub-Forum". (For example, the CurlTalk Adroid App lists the "sub-forums" you're referring to as "forums". What's important is that we're all really on the same page ) But anyway -- Gretchen said a Mod CG forum(sub-forum) would be made if there was interest, so they're just waiting to see if there is.

I think I'd pop in now and then to see what people are trying and liking (or not).

That would be an interesting idea. Then all this forum would need is a sub-forum for people who are not CG or modified CG so they can discuss what they like/don't like or what type of sulphates or cones work with their hair types.

I thinkits a great idea and would really add to the community. There seems to be quite a few mod CGers and I think it would be a great place to assemble thoughts and tips on how to modify CG to accomadate your own personal needs.

I vote YES!

I think there are already too many forums. With the exception of the 4a, and possibly the 2, most get very little "action." Most of the questions are posted to the General Discussion forum. As long as the title has the information, it's easy to see if it's a thread that you want to read.

I'm interested. I'm pretty close to strict cg but I often stray if my hair needs it. Information from others who modify would be helpful.

Yes, but of course, if you don't want to click on a forum, you don' t have to; however, if there's a forum that a subset of people do want to have for focused discussion on a specific topic, then it's there for them. e.g. I don't necessarily spend a lot of time on the Recipes forum, but if I'm in the mood to look into some new homemade preparations, it's a forum I'm sure to go to, knowing I don't have to wade through a lot of non-recipe related stuff. I think that they're trying to gauge if that level of interest is there for a Modified CG forum.

I agree with kathymack. There are too many forums that get little to no traffic. I was actually thinking of suggesting to mods to combine the 3's (and combine 4's).

Any questions related to CG or mod CG can go under "trying a shampoo free method". Just my opinion.

I think a mod-cg board would be a great idea. I also agree with combining the 3s and 4s boards. I've noticed a lot of people with combination hair, like myself. So maybe a combination board would be good too? I never know which board to look at the 2's or 3's.
