Default I don't know what's going on with my curls! Breakage, maybe?

I don't know what's going on with my hair. Some individual hairs are coming out of the curl and many of them are pin straight! I don't know what to do! I think next full moon I'm going to trim it a bit and hope for the best!

Any tips?

I can't see the straight hairs but I have hair like that. I have hairs that are bone straight and others that are wavy among my curly hairs. Sometimes these hairs don't clump with the rest. It's really weird.

Thanks for your reply Kilajo!

It's just that something's changed! My hair wasn't like this, with all that halo hair on each curl, it won't curl along so it sticks out from the bottom of each curl.

I'm still using the same products combination and the same routine, so I can't tell what's doing it...I'll try trimming bits every 3 months and see what happens.

Your hair is gorgeous! You might just need a little trim and maybe a little more moisture on the ends.

That's how mine does. I just think I have straight and wavy hair sprinkled around my head. My hair isn't damaged.....well I did find a fairy knot a few days ago, but other than that my hair is in really good condition. Idk what would cause the straight hairs.

ETA I just reread what you said. Are your straight hairs not straight from root to tip? Mine are completely straight all the way down the strand. If yours are curly all the way until you get to the ends then IDK. If that's the case do you ever straighten your hair? Also I don't recall if you said you've tried PTs. That may help. Either way your hair is pretty!

Thank you Curry Curls and Kilajo for your replies!

I will trim around the beginning of April (trying to going for the moon phase method) so maybe it'll sort it out.

I don't know if the hairs are straight from root to end, it's never happened before, so I'm surprised! The straighter ones have the full - real - length of my hair, so I guess there's no curl at all in them so no shrinkage to pull them up.

The shorter ones, have a bit of curl, that's why they don't look long but they stick out, they don't clump up.

Maybe, as well as the trim, I should also change leave-in for a while. I'm using Boots curling creme right now (gift from my boyfriend who's in the UK! ) - which I looooooooove - but maybe my hair needs something softer, like the Pantene I normally use.

I'll keep you posted on any changes! I'm also thinking of mixing my regular gel with a little bit of aloe vera gel...wonder if it'll help...

You know you may want to try a protein treatment followed by DT. Also have you tried acv? When I have trouble with my little frizzy spot that helps, but of course it doesn't really do anything for the straight or wavies.

My hair doesn't like protein but it's been a while since my last ACV, so will try that and see if it gets better. As for DT, did one the other day to which I added aloe vera gel and my hair was super soft but the loose hairs were still completely separated from the curls.
