Default Dry roots?

I've noticed that my roots seem dry and I'm wondering if this is contributing to my frizz, especially in the crown area. What's a good way to moisturize my roots without my hair looking greasy?

I've eyes the Curls brand elixir stuff. Would that help? Any other ideas?

my scalp gets dry as well, so i use oil as a growth booster, not only does it help with cleansing my scalp and i can go longer with out washing. ive made my own mix, i use Argan oil as a base, its a really light oil that penetrates the hair scalp as well and makes my scalp feel amazing.

I just bought Curls elixir or whatever it's called. It has a bunch of oils in it and I'm going to try it out tonight. I've had my eye on it and it also says it can help with frizz and it's a hey protectant.
