Default Cold Water

Am I just a freak, or is anyone else's hair much shinier and less frizzy if they wash it in cold water?

That's normal. Cool/cold water seals the cuticle. This smooths the strands, making them appear/feel less frizzy and shinier.

Your not a freak at all, I do that in the summertime to help close my hair's cuticle, therefore reducing frizz and creating shine. (The cuticle typically open in the summer from humidity.)

Nope, you're not a freak. That is the whole reason why I do cool/cold water rinses as my final step in the shower.

So I can rinse with hot water in the winter, and get equally good results? I hope so *I'll try tomorrow*

I wouldn't think of not rinsing in cold as my final step. For me it's kind of equivalent to not flushing after using the bathroom. Weird comparison maybe, but it's what popped in my mind. But then again, I do the whole last conditioning step with cold water to get that seaweedy feeling.

I do a cool water/apple cider vinegar rinse as my final rinse. I get the shine, and my scalp feels so good too.
