Best Hair Day Ever!

Like Tree5Likes

So the title say it all- I ended up with an amazingly good hair day today- minimal frizz, good clumps, perfect volume and lots of ringlets. And since I know hpow excited I am to share my happy news, I figured I would ask everyone else to share their amazing hair days too!

The back of the head pic is from right after SOTC this morning. The face shots are from just a little while ago, after surviving work and a chiropractor appointment, so they show a little more frizz.

Soo beautiful! I'm totally jealous. My curls are insanely frizzy today. How long did it take for your hair to get so long!? Again, gorgeous!

There was definite head tilting in the first pic- my hair has long layers all around and then is also angled to be longer in back than in the front, so when it's dry, it ranges from shoulder length to just about BSL. I've been growing my hair out for just over two and a half years (started a little shorter than chin length). It's been slow going because I had some major color damage that needed to be cut out.

I've been having the worst time with dew points since they jumped up last week- I used a product today that had glycerin listed as the second ingredient and that seemed to help a lot.

Thanks for the advice! I got highlights in November (before going CG) and they totally killed my hair! Luckily, I only got them on the sides, but I had to chop off about 3 inches. Now the back is long and the front is short. Curly mullets are not cute. But you and your hair are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your good hair day
So pretty!

If only my hair looked like that. I had poofy frizz everywhere today. It was my first time using my FSG AND it's raining. My husband even made a comment about my frizz and he is not hair literate. Lol.

Even more hair envy!! It looks fabulous

Plopping & FSG are working wonders for me right now. Still trying to perfect the process, but way better than before - much less frizz & alot of shine!! I'll try to remember to take some new pics.
Finally have a routine that works

Low Poo - 2chic Avocado & Olive Oil Ultra-Moist Shampoo
Co-Wash - V05 Passion Fruit Smoothie Conditioner
RO - Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Cure Care, GVPCB
LI - KCNT
Stylers - GF Pure Clean Gel, BTZ Noodle Head, LA Looks Sports Gel, Eco Styler Krystal, KCCC (I am a product junkie )

Wash at night, add products, plop in a t-shirt overnight, then diffuse in the morning!! It is great finally getting to sleep in
Wow! Thank you everyone for the compliments- they mean a lot coming from so many women with fabulous hair. I can't wait to see other peoples' awesome hair days!

Jas- No, the devacut isn't until April 18th, so I have a few weeks to get nervous.

As far as products, etc- I'm going to apologize for the length of my replay because I would rather give too much info than not enough...

I'm modified CG- I am pretty close to being full CG, but I do use CHS (sulfate) Treatment Shampoo once a week before my PT/DT (I figured if it works for CalamityM I might as well at least try it...). I have been straight co-washing all week for the first time ever (I usually low-poo after every 2 co-washes or so). Today was my 6th consecutive day of co-washing. Clarifying conditioners make awesome co-washes! I mention this because I suspect that my hair is a bit more moisturized than usual and that might have had something to do with the results. My rinse out was Giovanni Smooth as Silk.

After I rinsed I used a small amount of Cure Care for my leave-in. Then I applied a decent sized blob of KMS Curl Up curling balm- this is a new item for me, I got it at Ulta last week or the week before. I've been struggling with adjusting to higher dew points and I saw that this had glycerin listed as the second ingredient. There was a thread recently about raking vs scrunching and it got me thinking about how to apply product. I smoothed a bit over my canopy, the flipped my head over and did my normal rake and scrunch. I followed this with both TIGI Curls Rock Amplifier (technically non-CG) and TIGI Curls Rock Mousse (water-soluble cone), both applied in the same manner.

I put my hair immediately into a plop for about 10 minutes (I can't t-shirt scrunch because it makes my curls stringy). After that I diffused my hair on low heat/low air until it was about 75% dry (it dried much quicker without the gel). Air dryed the rest of the way, and used a little bit of CIAB when I did SOTC.

Because of the cone in the Curls Rock Amplifier, I don't see this being a routine that I will do every day. Even though it's a cone that supposed to evaporate from the hair and not build up, I know it can cause dryness. But this was easier and gave me better results than any other combo I've tried, so I will definitely try it again.

Quick update: not only did I get awesome first day hair, but I got amazing good second day hair with minimal effort this morning. After I took my hair out of the pineapple, I spritzed my hair very lightly with water, smoothed small amount of CIAB mixed with CJCCC over the canopy to smooth the frizzies, and scrunched a little bit of the Curls Rock mousse into the ends to reshape the curls. It took about 2 minutes and I got more compliments on my hair today.
