Trying FSG Cream. :]

I can't remember who's recipe I borrowed, but I'm trying out some FSG cream. Air drying now. So we will see.

I used:
2 tblsp FSG
1 tblsp hard hold gel
1-2 tblsp conditioner (I used TN)
Few drops jojoba oil
And my fsg already had agave nectar in it.

I liked how this went on my hair, but it still made my hair very frizzy. I had to rewash and start over. I keep meaning to try some KY before I apply FSG for frizz but I keep forgetting.

I tried FSG cream a while back too, when I first started making my own FSG. Similarly, I wasn't as pleased with the results - I had frizzier hair, and not enough hold. I went back to the tried and true routine of FSG with hard hold gel over it. I think (at least, for me) as long as the 2nd gel is a CG one that you are used to, and you can SOTC, why not?

Maybe certain types of hair can tolerate the FSG cream better? I know mine just couldn't. Not enough product-to-hair ratio, I think. Like the conditioner diluted the FSG, which is already thin. I don't know. But my hair loves the FSG on it's own, so I ended up just sticking to that.

So does this mean you didn't use a LI? I haven't tried that yet. I've tried using a little FSG, A LOT of FSG, and then the "cream" FSG. I think I even used gels on top for the first two but it made my curls vvveeeerryyy wirey looking and stringy. I could have used too much gel as well.

I think this is IAGirl's recipe. I remember seeing it on her blog and I think there is a thread on it somewhere. This is on my list of things to try. How did you find the consistency of it. Was it really thick? I only ask cause I find if I put really thick gels in my hair I have to either supersoak or mix with another product to get it to distribute evenly.

I wouldn't say it was thick. Mine was creamy and easily distributed. Once mixed with conditioner and gel it mellowed out the thickness of my FSG. It wasn't watery though. HTH.
