I got some KCKT alone a few weeks ago at Whole Foods and tried it, it overconditioned my hair. It was great for that first day cause I had shampoo commercial hair, BUT I had no wave at all to my hair in addition to being flat to my head. Anybody else have this problem?

I know, lots of folks love the KCKT/KCCC/BRHG combo, but will it work without the KCKT? Or do you need the super duper moisturizing to combat the drying effects of the KCCC and BRHG? Thanks!

Low Poo: Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat

I've never really found KCKT to be really moisturizing, and I was under the impression people use it to make distributing KCCC easier, since it kind of "sticks" to your hair (it does to mine at least...)
I think if you use any kind of slippery LI you should be okay with distribution and don't have to rely on KCKT.

Brands are always saying "Oh, you HAVE to use this product with another one of ours..." but you can get away with tons of stuff
CG Birthday: 7/25/11
Type 3a/2c
Dense, Fine in front Coarse in back, Low porosity
Low-Poo: SM Moisture Retention Shampoo
Rinse Out: Tresemme Naturals
Leave In: ^^^^
Stylers: AIF, Natural Silks Curly Gel
*Desert Curly*
Hadnt even thought of them being the same 2 brands, just know when most folks talk about one product the other two are normally mentioned.

Any recs for a conditioner to use instead?

Be careful mixing KCCC with oil heavy things...KCCC can be known as being finicky when paired with leave ins/creams...On the other hand, everyone's hair is different and that may work for you!
2b/3a, normal/high porosity, fine/medium texture, medium density, low elasticity

Low Poo- Tigi Colour Goddess, Giovanni 50:50, Giovanni TTT (clarify 1X/week)
Condish- CJ Curl Rehab, Giovanni 50:50, Giovanni TTT
Leave In- Slip Detangler, KCKT, Redken Curl Refiner
Treatment- CJ Repair Me! and CJ CR

Dislikes: Too much protein, high glycerin content, and heavy oils
The Aubrey Organics line is very good.
Hair: 2a or 3a (not sure), very porous and fine as frog hair
Day 1: Cowash and condition with AO GPB, ACV Rinse,
Co-Kra gel (this stuff is fantastic)

Day 2: KCKT, KCCC, plop, KCCC, plop again, air dry
Day 3: Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Coil Jam
Day 4: IAGirl's PT, KBB DT, FSG

Co-Kra gel is my own concoction of okra boiled in coconut milk. It is a cross between FSG and KCCC and leaves my hair very soft and shiny
I've found KCKT to be a little heavy too (not too moisturizing but it makes my hair feel a bit gunky and I hate that). I've just been using a little as a leave-in on the ends and that seems fine, though.
I've heard the VO5 strawberries & cream moisture milk is a good replacement for KCKT & works well with KCCC.
Finally have a routine that works

Low Poo - 2chic Avocado & Olive Oil Ultra-Moist Shampoo
Co-Wash - V05 Passion Fruit Smoothie Conditioner
RO - Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie, Cure Care, GVPCB
Stylers - GF Pure Clean Gel, BTZ Noodle Head, LA Looks Sports Gel, Eco Styler Krystal, KCCC (I am a product junkie )

Wash at night, add products, plop in a t-shirt overnight, then diffuse in the morning!! It is great finally getting to sleep in
I often use a little Tresemme Naturals conditioner as a leave-in, and it seems to do fine with KCCC.
