Need help defining and repairing my curls!!!

Someone please give me some tips or advice on how to fix my hair.
I really really need help!!!

Growing up I had really curly thick beautiful hair. Then when I was about 11 I relaxed my hair and it started taking out the curls slightly, after that I began dying my hair about twice a year. I began bleaching it about 2 years ago and in the past year I have had blonde highlights, dyed it red, black and now I have blonde highlights again. I've also been using a flat iron and curling iron for about 7 years now most of the time without a heat protectant.

My hair is now extremely dry and frizzy. It also now looks between an 2C type and a 3A. The roots of my hair are extremely curly and then as the hair goes down it gets wavy to pin straight. Products can't keep it curly and it just looks a mess all of the time.

I really want to wear my hair curly all of the time, but I can't because it looks so horrible.

If anyone has any advice or tips please please please help me out.
If it makes you feel any better, you are definitely not alone! I have straightened my hair for years and damaged it so bad. When I decided enough was enough and I couldn't keep frying my hair, it took months for my curl pattern to form again. All hope is definitely not lost, it just takes lots of patience. Definitely lay off the chemicals and any kind of heating tools from now on too. It may also be beneficial for you to cut off the damaged hair, so it can grow out healthy again. Hope I managed to help out a bit!
Are you now or considering going CG? CG has helped my hair so freaking much it's like night and day.
Even if you think full on CG isn't for you, the main CG principle can help a lot. Basically, to treat your hair as if it were a fine garment. Lots of TLC!

If your hair is that damaged, nothing may restore it. You can try lots of protein and moisture to see if you can get it to a point that it will be the best it can be. You want to treat it with lots of TLC, so it will grow in well. Only you can decide what you want to do--let it grow to a certain length and do the big chop or let it grow out and get frequent trims. It's going to take a while to get it back to health.

You want to do is determine your hair properties. Here's a link to help Live Curly Live Free - Home Once you determine your properties, you can look for folks with hair like yours and see what they use. It's the best place to start.

I'm in the same boat as you. I started CG a little over a year ago which has helped tremendously but there are still parts of my hair that will not recover from the heat damage. I have done PTs, DTs, and everything under the sun. I now have 5 inches of beautiful 3b/c curls and another 5 inches of damaged hair that ranges from 3a- pin straight. When it gets a little longer I will cut the rest off but for now I just live with it. The first thing that helped me was moisture, moisture, moisture. Also check out the site kathymack suggested and try and learn your hair properties. This will help you SOOOOOO much.
