Curly Hair Care Overseas - Help!

Hello all! I have a bit of a dilemma. Though I have perfected a routine to get the perfect soft curls I want (using curl-specific mousse), my routine takes a good chunk of time. I basically apply product to the underlayer of my hair. For the top layer that I put into clips for airdrying, I apply the product one small section of hair at a time. I have a lot of hair, and it's long, so it does take a while. And up until now I didn't mind.

However, this summer from the end of May to the beginning of September, I will be going overseas to Mozambique (Africa) and Thailand. In Moz. I'll be working with an orphanage, and in Thailand I'll be doing stuff with street children among other things.

My problem is, I KNOW I won't have time for my usual hair routine! I don't even know if I will have adequate air drying time. And I'm not bringing a blow dryer/diffuser. Too much weight in my luggage and unreliable electricity.

What can I do? Now that I'm used to having wonderful volume on the crown of my head because of clips, I can't stand the thought of going back to a triangle curly head. Please offer any advice you may have! Anything that can cut down drying time, or even how to get volume without clips, or anything else. I'd surely appreciate it! Thank you!
i think you need to simplfy your routine, try to use other stuff or another way that wont take as long. and moving over seas, also remember that the climate will be alot different too so that might do a number on your hair as well.

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I also blog about my hair journey, please feel free to read and comment/ask questions http://www.naturallycurly.com/blogs/...air-blogs/2494
Not sure this will be helpful, but maybe you could work on developing a night time routine? This thread talks about doing this:

Think I'm going to switch to a nightly washer: update

If you could work out a simplified routine and perform most of it at night, maybe that would work out for you?

Other than that, braids comes to mind.

Experimenting with too many products to name here. All this great info keeps my head spinning.
Find out what they use for hair products. Keeping your hair in loose braids and your hair covered will cut down on manipulation. Use a T-shirt to dry. Being in those countries, drying time should be quick, unless the humidity is very high.

This method sounds plain, but it works.

Thank you sooo much for the advice!!!

I never even THOUGHT about the possibility of a night routine. After reading through that thread, I know it's exactly what I need to do. I've never heard of plopping before, but I'm excited to try it out.
