I cant get over some of the stories I read on here about how rude folks can be about other folks' hair. I havent had any comments yet because I'm still not confident in my waves to wear it down in public yet.

I dunno if it's just the way I was raised or what, but I was always told if you cant say something nice then dont say anything at all. If someone's hair looks nice then I'll say something, but if it doesnt then it's not my business to say otherwise. All it does it hurt their feelings and make them self conscious the rest of the day.

My favorite folks are the ones that think you don't have a mirror in your house and point out the most obvious things, "Did you know you have a mustache?" or "Did you know you have a breakout on your forehead?"

I'm in total agreement with you, desperate4curls, some of the stories I've read about people being rude to curls (or anything else) make me cringe! Like yourself, even if I think something doesn't quite look right on someone, I wouldn't even dream of saying it because I know it would upset their feelings, but that's just the softy I am (and a respectful one at that!)

OMG how this sounds like my family. I hate, hate, HATE how they feel entitled to negatively comment on my appearance. As a kid it was always my bushy, frizzy hair, which was my parent's fault for not taking care of it. Now my hair looks good so its "wow is that a pimple???" or something else. I even had an auntie ask me if I had gotten a nose job and once she even said I should look into surgery because I was too flat! Folks I swear...

Ha ha, I agree that some people who can no longer negatively comment about one aspect of your appearance will move on to something else! I do feel sorry for them though, I don't think they can help themselves!

Well unfortunately, some people have absolutely no tact and feel its their responsibility (for whatever reason; jealousy, lack of adequate brain cells, etc.) to inform someone of their "shortcomings". It's sad really but they just don't care :S
I personally feel that all potentially negative things pertaining to such should just be left unsaid or at least said in a "constructive" and friendly way. Also just focusing on the good in someone should be good enough really. But you know, some people just love drama >.< *sigh*
