Default Coworker insulted my straight hair today...

grrrrrrrr...I have gotten tired of waiting for my curly hair to dry and I needed to get to the office early this week so I blew my hair out straight.

A coworker first accused me of having gotten a hair cut because it looked shorter today and then she said she "you know I prefer your hair curly."
The other day a guy said he preferred my hair straight.

You just can't please everyone but why must these people voice their opinions when they were not requsted?? By the way the woman who didn't like my straight hair walks around with extentions and wigs all the time! I wish I weren't so sensitive.

Don't worry about it, i wear my hair back in a bun for work, i tie it back when it's wet and it appears straight, one day they called me for some over time and because i hadn't been at work i had my hair out and curly i was greeted by "oh my god what have you done to your hair?" and " i don't like it like this i prefer it the other way" or "where did you get your hair done" and looks of disbelief when i say i didn't get it "done" anywhere, it's my natural hair.

I don't care if people like my hair or not, it's thick and healthy and i'm beginning to love it now i know what to use, most of the people who made comments had matted weaves or short thin hair anyway. just ignore them

I would love it if people insulted my straight hair I do not straighten my hair much, but when I do, everyone says that I look so much better, that they prefer straight hair, etc. Oh well, its been about eight months since I straightened my hair and I have no plans to do it anytime soon.

You're right, you can't please everyone and you shouldn't try to either. I've noticed that most curlies get offended when someone says they should STRAIGHTEN their natural curls. At least she likes your curls. But it shouldn't even matter. It's YOUR CURLS, YOUR HAIR, and You can wear it however YOU want. You are the most important person! Its all about you! Please yourself, not them.

Good for you CG2...society is just so brainwashed to believe that if it's curly, it needs to be straight. That's so bizarre...

I'm glad you don't plan to straighten anytime soon. You're beautiful.
