Just wanted to show what a difference a haircut can make

It's been a long time since I got a haircut, partially because I'm a poor college student and partially because I haven't found a hairdresser I really love; however, my hair was starting to look really scraggly so I knew I needed one. Now, I know I've heard from many people on these boards (especially the 2s) that if your wave/curl pattern is a little weak and you have long hair, your length might be weighing your hair down and therefore making your waves/curls a little limp, but I never realized that it would actually make a noticeable difference.

The one before is the one in the red bathroom where my waves are a bit more limp; the one after is where I'm wearing the purple shirt and it's a little bit lighter.

Anyone else have before/after haircut pics?

ETA: and both of these are with no products, just washed and put a little Cure Care in as my leave in. I wanted to make sure it was the cut that was making the difference and not something else like a product.

It looks great kimmidawn
I'm thinking about a cut as well. Looking forward to pics with products.
Great haircut kimmidawn! You're right, a good haircut can make all the difference to your waves/curls and give them more bounce. Even though my hair is practically all one length, when I've had the straggly bits trimmed off, it seems to give my curls a new lease of life!

Thanks for posting this! I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow, and I am planning to get at least 4 inches cut. My ends are super scraggly looking, and I just feel like I look a mess! I plan on going shorter and also having her kind of reshape my whole style. I was feeling kind of nervous by the prospect, but I am totally encouraged now by your fab results!!
Gorgeous! So healthy!

I'll play...

Agreed. Its crazy how much of a difference a haircut makes! I have to get my hair thinned because I have excessively thick hair (when I was a kid my mom would put my hair in 2 pig tails. Just the one half of my head was a bigger pony tail then my sisters whole head of hair. I could actually part my hair into 3 sections and Id still have a thick pony tail) anywhoo...if I dont go every 5 months MAX my hair is Diana Ross.

Besides the thinning, just in general getting a trim makes such a difference!! My hair gets to a point where it wont want to do ANYTHING. Its just BLAH. Ill go to get a trim and my curls instantly bounce back. Its amazing! I think a lot of girls dont realize this, it might not be a product problem (thinking the product isnt working anymore) you really just might need a hair trim.

Heres a picture of my hair being BLAH and a picture freshly after a trim.
