Is anyone still using Living Proof No Frizz?

Many of the reviews of this say it's great at first and then leaves hair dry and tangly.

What is your experience? I am dreading the high dews which are coming this Spring/Summer in NYC and looking to find the best solution. LP No Frizz is one option I'm considering, along with continuing my foray into complete CG and then trying modified CG.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

I've used it with good results. If you put a moisturizing leave-in on your hair first, then your hair won't be dry and become tangled.

The less (is this good English?!) leave-in you use, the longer your style or curl definition will last.

The price can be a drawback if you use the product often or you have voluminous hair.

Good to know. Thanks so very much for letting us know, Greatcurls! As the hot weather moves in and my frizz tries to take over Manhattan, I'm going to try it again.

Living Proof did leave my hair and scalp very clean, but very dry. I used the leave in conditioner as well. If you go to Sephora, they might give you samples to try first, plus they have a very good return policy if you buy the products and they don't work. I was frizzy too. Sorry, maybe it's just my hair that defies gravity.
Once upon a time, on a clear moonlit night, I counted all the stars in the sky.
I only used this once, and it was a no go right away.
Thanks for the responses. I'm still on the fence about it - maybe I'll get samples - good idea!

I used it for about a month over a year ago. The first time it worked wonderfully, but after that it gave me horrible build-up, and it dried my hair out something fierce. Now let me just say that it's incredibly difficult for my hair to dry out. I can't use a leave in, and I cannot use more than a dime size of light conditioner most of the time. Co-washing is also out. A product that can dry MY hair out? Impressive! LOL.
2C/3A, fine, higher porosity.
Hi there. I just did a search on "Living Proof" and found your thread. Since it is recent, I thought I would chime in.

I recently did a geletin protein treatment that made my hair stiff, dry and brittle. I've bit bits breaking off all over the place. I've been conditioning like mad, and nothing has helped.

Yesterday I went to Sephora and I got a sample of Living Proof Restore Mask. It's not from the no-frizz line, but it has the same poly-whatchamawhooy stuff in it. I did a sulfate wash to make sure I didn't have any old buildup on my hair and then I used the mask for 30 minutes and rinsed with cold water. I wrapped my hair in a towel (I was planning to have naked hair today, but if I style I add product to dripping wet hair) and got dressed. When I took my hair out of the towel and ran a comb through it I noticed my hair was more wavy than it had been in two weeks... if not more wavy than ever. Well, I couldn't ignore than, and I decided to style. I spritzed with water to get it more wet and added my styling products and diffused. I am having the best (wavy) hair day that I've probably ever had. I have more root wave than ever and my hair doesn't feel dry anymore either.

Since I just had the one sample, I can't say if it will build up or seal moisture out of your hair in the future. I can tell you that it was a Holy Grail hair day after I used the mask.

That's my 2

If you had asked me about my porosity 2 weeks ago, my answer would be LOW! But now I'm starting to wonder. I did the float test, and my hair floated for hours. I even added some soap to break the water tension. If I slide my fingers up a strand of hair, it feels smooth, and it squeaks. But... going down is smoother. There is a texture difference, for sure. However, this is before doing a couple of gelatin protein treatments. After the gelatin treatment, my hair was stiff, dry and brittle. I had hairs breaking off all over the place. My hair is shaggy now. So perhaps it became porous from those treatments. Or, maybe those tests are not accurate and I was mistaken about my porosity to begin with. It would make sense that if my hair was porous that the mask would plug up the openings allowing me to retain moisture. It made a huge difference in my hair. So... all that is to say, I don't know. Hope that helps. lol

Interesting about the "float test" , because my hair strands can float for days. To prepare for the test, I make sure I use a sulfate shampoo to remove any residue, and let it dry before placing in water. Yet, I consider my hair highly porous because my hair tangles easily and can get wet easily.

I'll try the Living Proof Restore Mask next time....

Tried the mask again. This time there were no fireworks. Maybe my hair liked the henna? Weird.

I was in the Sephora store that's located in JC Penny's recently and was told that all Sephora stores that are located in JC Penny will no longer carry the Living Proof line. There will be on sale in January and all Living Proof products will have a discount of 20%.

My list will start with the mask.....

I want to try this, I've ordered the travel size shampoo and conditioner, I'm afraid to dry out my hair, since I was a child, I've always had frizzy hair, now I have two daughters which sadly inherited my frizzy hair as well. So, if anyone one tries it keep me posted I want to know if this is good to use with my daughters, who are 14 and 12.
I have used the mask and leave-in since the last posting. Both did as described for my hair. Now, with the stylers, you definitely want to use the leave-in (or one of your choice) if you have dry hair, because it does prevent frizz, and that includes blocking moisture of any kind.

This line has proved itself for me during on humid days. Because of the price, it's definitely a "hair treat" line.

Coincidentally, I bought the No Frizz conditioner, and plan on buying the amp2. Will keep up updated.

It's funny to see this thread resurrected after so much time since I started it.

Bottom line: for me Living Proof was a complete failure.
