Just mix some ACV and water... some people do a small amount of vinegar in a larger amount of water (i.e. 1 Tbsp in 1 cup), others go up as high as 50/50. After you rinse out your conditioner, pour the ACV over your hair. Rinse with water. That's it! The acid in the vinegar helps remove build-up in your hair (for example, deposits from hard water) and seals the cuticle. Be wary of doing it too often as it can be drying, but used occasionally it can really benefit your hair! I do this every now and then and find it increases shine and reduces frizz.

I use a pint sized mason jar - put a 1/4 cup acv in and fill the rest of the jar with water. I tip my head back and pour it from the bangs back, then flip my hair over and pour from the neck line down, then turn my head and pour it down each side, flip back right-side-up and pour the rest of it over the top of my head. I do not rinse it out with water afterwards.

i add a whole heap i herbs when i do my ACV rinses. my hair LOVES this. i use what ever i have on hand. same of my faves are: rosemary, sage, marshmallow root, nettle, lavender, peppermints..... or even green tea if i dont have anything else on hand. i seep it like a tea and just leave it till its cold then i strain it and put a splash of ACV in it. i then put it in a spray bottle and after my DT i just spray it on my scalp and whats left in the bottle i just pour it over my hair. it helps with fizz and cools my scalp, it helps with any scalp problems.... and gives amazing shine and bounce.

Pretty much ditto everyone else. I've been doing vinegar rinses for nearly 40 years. I use about 1/4 cup in a mug of water. I use any kind of vinegar - white, cider, rice, wine.

Do you guys think I should do an acv rinse or do some low poo? I have itchy scalp lately and my curls are kinda going a little limp. Probably from buildup? I got a shea moisture shampoo that was recommended here but wondering if I should do an acv first to see ???
**been cg for about 2 months and never done anything to remove buildup!

yea i agree, i think you should do both, the low poo first, then do the ACV rinse to finish it off.

So after the ACV, do you do an additional rinse with water or leave it in your hair?

I pour the vinegar rinse on my hair, scrunch it around for a bit, then rinse.

some people leave it in, some rinse it out. If you're using it to clarify, I'd rinse it out. If you're using it as a pH adjustment or to help porosity, then I'd leave it in

I cowash, rinse, do my ACV rinse, then my RO. The ACV gets rinsed out when my RO does.

I do acv rinses as needed for clarifying...one part vinegar to three parts water. I apply after cleansing (mostly cowash) and massage my scalp and run my hands down my strands. I often leave in during dc but always rinse out. My mother suffers from dermatitis and acv helps unclog pores and soothe itchy scalp...she gets a cup of undiluted acv and I let it sit with conditioner. It doesn't dry or irritate her scalp...makes our hair shiny and fluffy.
