Default hair is too soft and too healthy!

ok I know this sounds ridiculous but my hair has gotten so incredibly soft and healthy and shiny and just different! I think the curls aren't as tight as they used to be and my hair just doesn't hold them well anymore! don't get me wrong I love having soft, healthy hair that looks great.... it's just getting to be more like wavy hair then curly hair it's so different than it used to be! anyone else have this problem?!?!

I hear ya!

I have the same problem!!
The solution for me was to stop conditioning (maybe once a week) & start using sulfates.
In other words, my hair likes the rough stuff. Your hair might like it too!

LOL , my hair seems to like the rough stuff too . I had to start shampooing again . I use the EMB and it seems to be curlier and have more volume .

I have to color my hair for this very reason. Too healty or soft means really bad hair for me.

sounds like it may be over-conditioned and the weight is pulling out some of your curl.

Oh dang it Brio beat me to it! That's what I think you're just overconditioned. I had to lay off the conditioner or rather go lighter for a bit in order to get it back in balance recently.

I have the same problem! My hair has always been so coarse and dry. However, since this summer it's so soft and healthy now. A few months ago I started using sulfates/silicones/whatever I wanted. Even the dry winter air isn't making it less soft. My curl pattern is different now.

definitely overconditioning. When my hair gets too soft, I try my best to limit conditioner to my ends (last 3-4 inches of hair), use no leave-ins or creamy products, and after I plop, I add hairspray.

I'm having the same issue. My hair is losing it's tightness.

I have the too soft/healthy thing going on, as well. I'm with the rest of you. I love having healthy looking hair, but I want my curls. It's still curly, but it's not as curly as normal. I used my new Mop Top products on Tuesday, and my hair looked great, curly and full. Then, I used the Fuzzy Duck, full, but not as curly as it should be. Yesterday, I went back to Mop Top, and I was happy with the shine and health, but concerned about the curl. I'm thinking of trying Whole Foods 365 shampoo. It's full of bad things, but my curls might very well need those things. I'm going to give the Mop Top one more shot before I put it on the swap board. I use a tiny amount of conditioner, so it might be possible that it's just too much for my hair.
