yep thats about it, keeping it as healthy as possible. Ive made up an oil growth booster formula type thing. with half argan oil and half evining primrose oil. then i add peppermint oil, rosemary oil and vit E oil to it. i use it everynight to message in my scalp.
lots of curlies use protective stying to stop the new growth getting damaged
my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.
I think that's just about everything I take, except also silica & vitamin E. And I drink a lot of aloe water, which is supposed to help. I get George's Distilled Aloe Water b/c it's tasteless. Kind of expensive but well worth it for the benefits. Haven't been able to find it anywhere except the Vitamin Shoppe.
I second the rosemary and sage oils...I also do scalp massage...try to do frequent dt's...not frequent enuff lately but I'm playin hooky from work today...so I'll do some today. Updo's work if ur hair is long enuf. When mine was long enuf for them it really helped protect it...and when I took it down it always seemed longer
Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
Is it bad that I haven't heard of anyy of these products? Care to explain what they are and how they help growth?
Went from 2c to 3b/c after 2 years of hard work!

Naah it's not bad at all haha. So let me explain them all:
The Shikakai oil is an Indian oil that is extracted from a particular fruit, native to those parts out there and it's typically used to stop shedding and help dandruff. Also it (from my own experiences and other reviews) increases hair growth a bit.
A word of precaution for it: it, at first has an EXTREMELY strong smell lol. I absolutely love it but it will wake you up if you roll over and a gust of Shikakai scented air greets your nose. Oh and it smells just like Indian food.. Which I find, a lot of people in the West don't approve of but for the growth, it's worth it lol.
Navratna Oil is my favorite. Now, it does have a rather strong smell but it's not like Indian food, it smells of... Indian herbs? Lol not such a comprehensive analogy but anyway it is an Ayurvedic oil that is used for basic all around health (can be used on skin as a pain reliever, helps dry skin, etc.) and it's a cooling oil so when you put it on your scalp, you can really feel it. I love this stuff. Oh and it gives great growth.
Both Shikakai and Navratna oils can be found in Indian marts, and of course ordered online.
Now sublime sulfur, is just a toned down version of regular powdered sulfur which (from what I hear) has a strong undesirable scent like rotting eggs, which sublime sulfur does not have. And it is easily mixed in oil and applied to the scalp as a kind of paste. Sulfur is really good for hair growth.
Now for the next growth aid, everyone has a natural fungus on their scalps and that fungus aids in helping your scalp shed hairs and such. So MN, aka monistat (which, only pay attention to the Miconazole Nitrate) (also in some countries, it isn't carried but the active ingredient is contained in anti fungal foot cremes) removes that fungus temporarily and creates a better environment for hair to grow so it grows a lot faster.
Lol I forgot Diamotaceous Earth. It is basically small pieces of fossils that are rich in silica. It has a very wide variety of uses (from a natural effective bug killer and preventer to a natural detox) and a use that I found it so awesome for was my hair, skin and nails.
My hair definitely grew faster and was actually a LOT stronger. Same as my nails - which showed a more apparent growth. My skin cleared up after about 2 weeks of drinking it. I had occasional break outs of course, but it kept that embarrassing type of acne at bay lol.
Ooh so also, something you should know about intake of this, well, you can mix it in whatever you want (I mix it in milk or juice), but it's über chalky... Some people don't mind the chalk, some even like it, but I really find it hard to drink the stuff down lol. So that's just something to know about this.
I think some people mix it with their smoothies and have said that the chalky taste was diminished, so I'll try that.
You just add one tablespoon of the DT earth to a glass (or whatever really) of [insert liquid here] and drink it.
Btw if you decide to buy it, make sure it's FOOD GRADE and not *feed grade* or anything but food grade. The other stuff has unnecessary and rather harmful minerals and things in it.
Also, it's really dusty, do try to avoid breathing in the dust *especially* if you have sensitivities in your respiratory system.
Hope all this helps!
More questions, ask away(:
I bought a shikakai shampoo soap bar from a store that sells indian products. I am someone who has struggled with dandruff all my life and now im saying "what dandruff?" the soap bar is easy to use and Rinse I go on to rinse and condition the smell doesnt linger. I have had a lot of growth but not sure due to this since only been using for a month. I take silica drops and flaxseed gel for healthier hair.
