Hi!

I have been natural for about 4.5 months. My 4a hair is between 2.5 and 3 inches long. I am experiencing a hair disaster today. Last night, I tried putting in flexi rods. I left them in overnight and they didn't turn out well. I need to fix this disaster, because my graduation begins in less than 6 hours!

I'm sorry about your hair disaster! I have a couple of options but you will have to know your hair to determine if it will work for you.

You can start over and just rewash your hair with conditioner. I wash my hair every day and have never had a problem. If you don't want to use conditioner, you can just water wash it (and then just style it as normal)... that seems to work for me as well.

If you don't want to shower, you can put your hair up or figure out some updo (but I'm guessing you already knew that!).

Rewash immediately and style as usual to let air dry.

Or wear a wig. You have to wear your cap and tassel anyhow.


NEVER try something new this soon to an event. It always backfires.

If you prefer not to wash or wet your hair you can always use a hair butter and try pin curls or bantu knot out style. Leave the bantu knots in for as long as possible to get the best curls.

If all fails a pinned up-do or a slicked ponytail will save the day!

I know im probably too late but i would spritz with water. add a little leave in, then some gel or curl cream, flat twist or braid it up, optional to put ends on rollers, then sit under a hooded dryer. Since you only spritzed it should take long to dry. I had this crisis once while out of town and this is what i did once except without the benefit of a dryer. Another time I did a wash and go.
