I don't think she mentioned her products maybe b/c she doesn't like the shameless plug routine? I mean she hardly mentions her own products in the book either! ~~jax

What a great segment! I have no idea why, but I was really surprised to see how soft-spoken Lorraine was. She seems sweet. I agree that her hair looked a little weird but mainly I thought the layers looked really uneven. She had some odd pieces in the back that were longer than the rest.

It seems like they wouldn't allow her to talk about the Deva products, since she kept saying very generic things about conditioners, and using the homemade lavender spray. Wonder why that was?

Can you imagine the pressure of getting your hair ready for a TV segment, especially if you are supposed to be a curl guru?

Wonder how many times she wet her hair this morning?

I was also very surprised at how softly she spoke because for some reason I imagined her to be a bit more pushy and with a deeper voice. Not sure why. I thought she was so cute, and I WANT THAT SHIRT!! My mom even watched it but didn't think the second girls' hair looked any better than the before pic. I thought Lorraine's hair looked great! But then again I wish mine looked anywhere as good as hers!

She mentiones her products in the columns a lot...and that made me get a different impression of her than she gave here. I also think she seemed sweet here.
I think her hair was okay. I think it is hard to make curly hair look good all the time. I am a bit nervous about mine going to a wedding and stuff. It isn't garanteed that it will look good. :P I agree with the layers looking a bit "off". I wouldn't have liked that cut myself I think. But she was very frizz free.
Fun to see it anyways.

Doesn't her hair look like that in the book? I mean her cover picture seemed similiar. Though the super long pieces in the back did look a little odd.
I thought perhaps she had more product in here hair to ensure she didnt have frizz, think how badly she would be dogged if she did. Also perhaps the makeup crew attacked her and made her put something in her hair to make it shiney?
I dont know I am just reaching, but I was happy that she was on tv. Finally I get to see someone on tv who actually has curly hair talking about curly hair. Instead of the typical you know they took a curling iron to it like you see in most magazine ads.

I clicked on the link--I'm confused. Do you have to watch all 15 min. to see the part with Lorraine? Or do you search Lorraine Massey in videos. When I did that the only results were Lorraine in Will and Grace.

Embudini, The video comes on at the top of the page. Is that where you went? At first, it will show an advertisement but then it comes on to the style part that has Lorraine Massey on it. Try it again and see if it works for you.

That's so cool! I would probably be totally star-struck & say something really stupid.

So what did her hair feel like? Crunchy? Producty? Soft?

I don't know about the people who have had their hair cut at Devachan or the others who have been to Devachan Curl Consultants, but I kind of thought that was part of the haircut, not to have it in even layers and pieces all over. I thought part of the 'charm' of the haircut was that only the pieces that needed to be cut were cut, or that pieces were cut to enhance the curl and shape, so I would never expect there to be even layers or length all over. The 2 DCC's that I've been to have both cut mine like that so that I have different lengths of curls, does that makes sense? It's not necessarily supposed to be cut straight across or with even layers cut into the hair. If that were the case then we would just go to any stylist.

Yay that last link worked!
I thought her hair looked so much better than I've seen it in the past. They or maybe she, defined some curls on the outside and not so much underneath I noticed which is what looked a little odd on one side. I like her hair myself.
I have my hair cut even but once it curls that's another matter since not all of my curls match one another.

I don't know why she didn't say anything about her line but I don't know any other cream cleanser myself. I've looked. She said a lovely gel, I guess she would think that since it's her gel

That was fun! Thanks for posting that it was on and the link to watch it!

She is very nice, down to earth and easy to talk too. I really can't say enough good about her. However, I'll admit I am still in awe about having her cut my hair. BTW, my hair now has longer curls in the back and also did once on the side. Lorraine remarked she knew she had cut my hair before when she saw the few longer curls. Maybe its her trademark??

Her hair was gelled in place. It bounced well, had no frizz but I would have to say crunchy (my opinion) as I recall.

Thanks for the link! It was a great segment.

I thought her hair looked awesome (I like choppy lengths like hers) and her wee voice is so cute. She seemed quite nervous, which was surprising to me because I think of her as a big 'star'!

And of course, since I'm grey haired myself, I loved the first woman's grey hair.

I thought it was a great spot but NO WAY could I get second day hair from a little spray bottle. I have a similar curl to the first lady and that's exactly how my hair looks in the am. If I don't conditioner or HCC wash it, it looks totally cruddy all day.

Jaxie LM didn't have her line of products when she wrote the CG book.

She's writing a new book I wonder if she'll plug them in there

I found it odd that she mentioned staying away from gels that have plastic resins - it makes sense but her gels have them. What's with that?
