Darn! No I didn't see it, I wish I would have known she was one...hopefully we can see a clip of it.

hockeymomof3 01-29-2007 08:39 AM

I saw it! I didn't know she was going to be on...I wish they would have given her more time, but I was so glad to see her a little bit. It was neat to see her in action.

Ann kept talking (which was a little irritating) but Lorraine was able to get the point across about sulfates.

I LOVED IT!

I didn't know she was going to be on either but I did see it since I'm a huge fan of the Today show and watch it everyday.
I wish she had more time on the air too. Such a short segment. Ok, now don't jump on me but..... and I'm probably going to be the minority but.....
I really didn't like her hair
At first glance, I loved it. So curly and I guess I did like the top layer but I looked at her real close and it looked coated. Producty. It didn't move well. And I could see there was alot of frizz underneath and it looked dry.
The last girl they showed - now her hair was real nice. Shiney, healthy, bouncy looking. I'm sure she just had her hair done.
I'm not a fan of deva products at all. They dried my hair out something awful. I still need to re-try and low poo and see if it will work. I still have the two gels because I want to try them in the summer and in Hawaii and if they still dry my hair out - out they go.

I saw it, and I loved it! :D

banjocurl 01-29-2007 03:22 PM

they have a segment on video at the today show site--just google it and it is EZ to find. i like her.

Kurlee 01-29-2007 03:39 PM

Thanks for the link! I hate that they rush things so much but it was good. Funny how they said to wash your hair every other day. I thought it was more like once every two weeks if you are really into it.

Looked like LM had a little tatoo on her arm: a curl. But I am not sure.
Nice that curly hair gurus comes out in the media. More culry haired girls that will like their hair better hopefully.

i thought her method didnt involve shampoo? am i crazy...i have the book but wasnt she talking about shampooing with something without sufates. she never mentioned the co method...

SmallFry 01-29-2007 04:03 PM

I wish they would have given her more time. But it was nice to see her; and I saw her tattoo of a curl. I thought that was cute!

toosweet118 01-29-2007 04:09 PM

Saw it too

There I was minding mind own business, when I heard Ann say a segment about curly hair was coming up, so I had to stay tuned, the curly girl that I am.
I think she did a good job in the short time she had. I have to agree with Darby her hair didn't look FABULOUS, a curly "guru" should not have bad hair days. :P It's not allowed.

I was also surprised that she didn't mention CO washes, just to avoid sodium laurel/ laureth sulphates. I think maybe she didn't want to turn off people who are religious "shampooers". Some people might ignore everything else she has to say if she dare mention not shampooing at all.

Kurlee 01-29-2007 04:23 PM

Maybe it is taking it too far too early to tell people not to use shampoo. I don't think people out there would listen if she told them to stop using shampoo kinda. That could be something to bring up later possibly.
It seems she is less anti-shampoo than when she wrote the CG book to me.

What a great segment! I have no idea why, but I was really surprised to see how soft-spoken Lorraine was. She seems sweet. I agree that her hair looked a little weird but mainly I thought the layers looked really uneven. She had some odd pieces in the back that were longer than the rest.

It seems like they wouldn't allow her to talk about the Deva products, since she kept saying very generic things about conditioners, and using the homemade lavender spray. Wonder why that was?

I agree. Remember the first time you heard about the "No Poo Routine" ? I wasn't buying it at first. You want to go easy on people with this concept. I loved the video and she looks great! I love her hair!
I also agree that it was really rushed.

sassette726 01-29-2007 04:46 PM

Sorry, DP.

Kurlee 01-29-2007 05:30 PM

I have seen other hair people on that show that talked and even held up their products.

selfcurledgirl 01-29-2007 05:48 PM

Loved the segment. thanks for posting it. I also was surprised she didn't mention her products. probably told her not to right? But I loved it. I emailed to some curlies.

toosweet118 01-29-2007 06:25 PM

You know it is totally possible that she didn't mention her products because she forgot. The nerves of being on live tv could have gotten to her.... :?

tinabcurly 01-29-2007 07:17 PM

I just watched-- thanks for the link! I didn't expect her to be a tiny, bubbly, soft spoken, Brit-- Lorraine is so cute!

I think I'm in the minority but, I thought her hair looked great. I wish my curls were that frizz free & had her definition- I wonder how much gel she uses...

I think her hair looked great too. She is a very tiny, sweet but strong woman. I'm sure being on the Today Show was a bit unnerving but I think she did a great job. She has done my hair twice and I've enjoyed her work and conversation immensely both times. I have touched her hair and it definitely has some gel in it :)
