I used!...

I used twice following the Jas's tip , with the purpose of seal, so that I can keep DC, PT and moisture.

I liked a lot, I felt the hair soft and shiny. There's only one thing that I didn't like it, but it happens every time I try to use oil as sealant: my hair has shrunk more than usual...

Attached is a photo of MO that I bought. I used about 03 drops MO + 03 drops sesame oil.

Thanks for the tip Jas...

YAY!! So glad it worked for you!!

Too much shrinkage? What's that?? LOL! It's probably all the moisture that was held in, I'd assume.

Happy you had success!!

I do it soaking wet, after LI, before soufflé and/or gel, etc.

I actually take another pump of LI, mix 5-10 drops of pure MO in it, and it these low dews I've added a pea of vo5's hairdressing, and only do 3-5 drops of MO.

I spread it on my nape, then ends, then scrunch in.

HTH!

Woohoo! I hope it works for you! I'm telling you, if you're porous, I can't imagine you not liking it!

Just go easy on the amount - too much I can imagine would be tragic. Just a few drops!

I used 5 drops or so, plus I did the banana smoothie masque before hand. My hair is now drying and it seems to be curling up more so far.

Oh dear. Yet another thing I feel I have to have right now even though I'm not due to wash my hair until Friday.

Is MO a lot like using other oils for sealing? I've tried olive oil and jojoba oil after washing and my hair ended up stringy and undefined. Even if I used just 2 drops.

I really dislike when it looks like I have something in my hair, or when my hair looks unnaturally shiny. Does MO have any of these effects?

Jules - looks lovely! KUP on how it survived the night!

Tart - I think it depends on the person, and the only way to know is to try it.

I find I CANNOT seal with EVOO, bc it just absorbs right into my hair. Same with EVCO. They are great for DT's, tho!

Jojoba my hair likes, though, but some people find it doesn't work well for them bc it has a waxy nature.

I don't think the small amount of MO I'm using on soaking wet hair is really providing any more shine than any other oil would.

If you don't like MO, you could perhaps try Grapeseed oil. I haven't tried it for sealing, but I use it on dry hair sometimes. A lot of people use it for sealing and love it!

Yeah, I used to use Grapeseed oil to seal, but once my hair started to become healthier it became too heavy. It was weird.

Interesting... Like I said, I've never sealed with it, but I have used it for refreshing, and I didn't really have any heaviness issues, except in a couple spots where I got a little heavy handed.

I find no weight from the MO, and no problems with build up. It even co-washes out.

You're right Jas!...

Just today I saw that the MO was being a success. And you know how? Today I haven't used to seal... the result is not so good...

What is saving is the marshmallow extract that I am testing today.

But that's okay.... Tomorrow I will be back to MO!...

Yay! I know, it's crazy! When I first tried it after reading those articles, I was thinking "this is going to be a disaster..." Lol! But it's my #1 HG now! Go figure!

Well, the frizz monster is here. But I think it is more from curl disruption/disturbance than the MO. It has been VERY windy today and my wool coat lapels catching the curls didn't help.
