Wondering if I am over-conditioned?

The last week or so, my curls are falling flat within a few hours. My hair is medium-fine, normal porosity, normal elasticity, and color treated (monthly). I thought I needed a lot of conditioning to counteract the frequent coloring, but I wonder if that's what's causing my curls to melt.

After a few weeks of testing all kinds of products, here's my routine: Low-poo with JC GLS or co-wash with JC Aloeba (trying to get away from low-pooing daily). Condition with Aloeba or TooShea! and leave it in my hair while I finish the rest of my shower, rinse out completely then use a dime size amount of CJ Beauticurls LI. Scrunch in CJ Pattern Pusha gel, blot/scrunch with a microfiber towel and diffuse to about 75% dry.

My curls look great immediately after diffusing, but by the time they dry completely and I SOTC, they are melting away. A couple of hours later and all I have left are rather limp waves.

Am I using too much conditioner? It does seem to do a little better on days that I low-poo. Any advice?

I would try leaving out the leave in to see if that makes a difference. Also, a good protein treatment might help.

Type:2b/3ab?

Experimenting with too many products to name here. All this great info keeps my head spinning.
I would recommend a PT. And using products that contain protein. With fine hair, it will likely do well with some protein to help strengthen it and help hold its curl pattern. I swear by IAgirl's gelatin PT - inexpensive and amazing results. I do this once a week. It took a few times for me to start being convinced that it was working, so if you try it and your hair doesn't hate it, keep at it - it will be worth it. If you're not positive that your hair will do well with a heavier PT like this, either test a small section first or try a diluted version (just using 1/4 or 1/2 packet of gelatin instead of the whole thing). PT recipe - as promised

I had to get an early start today, so I skipped the leave in, and just washed and conditioned with GLS and Aloeba, then some Gelebration spray on soaking wet hair. It felt rough and had a little bit of frizz, so I smoothed in a dime size amount of Confident Coils and then scrunched a little more, then diffused. Result: beautiful, soft wurls that seem to be staying!

I'm going to try iAgirl's protein treatment and see what that does. Thanks for the tips!
