New Conditioner - friendly ingredients??
I found a new conditioner in Superstore (Canada) today. It's PC brand conditioner and was really cheap! ($3.99 for a pretty large bottle)
Could somebody tell me if these ingredients are CG friendly? I don't know enough to be able to tell...
Ingredients: water, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride, quaternium 18, glycerin, paraffinum liquidum, cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, hair keratin amino acids, tocopheryl acetate, sodium ascorbate, socium pca, betaine, sorbitol, glycine, alanine, proline, serine, threonine, arginine, lysine, glutamic acid, parfum, dmdm hydantoin, diazolidinyl urea, edta, citric acid
whew! that's a lot.
Also, are "hair keratin amino acids" a type of protein??
Thanks so much!

I'm not an expert in reading ingredients, but it seems CG to me...also, anything that says "amino acids" or "hydrolyzed" is almost always a protein (if I'm wrong someone please correct me)

as far as i know hair keratin amino acids is a type of protein.
cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol these are both alcohols, so you might want to be careful incase they make you a bit dry. some curlies can use things with alcohol some find it drying.

Cetyl and Stearyl alcohols are both fatty alcohols and will not cause drying (on the contrary, they are moisturizing). They are found in most conditioners for that reason.

The paraffinum liquidum is a petroleum-based product in the family of mineral oil and vaseline. Personally I wouldn't use that on my hair or skin, but it might be CG, anyone know? And I have read on here lately that at least 1 curly is using straight mineral oil and loving it.

Thanks!
Wow thanks so much to all of you! I tried it this morning and found it quite light which will be nice in the summer months hopefully.
If anybody knows more about the paraffinium let me know... don't want to be putting something in that can't rinse out.

Mineral oil is a love/hate thing here. It is CG, but it's one of those ingredients like polyquats- some people seem to have issues and others don't. As long as your hair continues to look and feel good that's what matters.
