Default Quitting CG

My friend is a 3bc, fine strands, thick density, medium porosity. We both started CG, but she's not feeling it. She's going to go back to using cones, but during her CG period realized how harsh sulfate shampoos can be. If she's using non water soluble cones, you can only use a sulfate shampoo to get rid of it right? Can non SLS/ALS sulfates remove cones? At what point do cones need to be washed out? She essentially wants to use cones as a way to seal in moisture, but if she shampoos 1x to 2x per month, will her hair eventually become dry 'cause coated with cones?

There are sulfate free cleansers that can remove cones- just look for coco betaine in the ingredient list. There are also very gentle sulfate shampoos, such as CHS Treatment Shampoo and Redken Fresh Curls that won't damage hair the way that some sulfates can. How often she would need to cleanse would depend on the type of cones she's using. Some cones like amodimethicone are formulated to not build up. Others, like dimethicone, will build up and require more regular cleansing.

Your friend might find some useful information in this article which recommends the best surfactants to remove various silicones.

Default please help?

so im pretty new here, i accidentally started CG without meaning to...i don't know it just happened. What happened was: i bought a low-poo shampoo (renpure organic or something), with no silicones im assuming, but then i used tresemme flawless curls with silicones i just realized!
And the thing is, my curls are going away and my hair is thinning! I read somewhere on a blog that if you don't use a clarifying shampoo before you start CG that your hair can fall out, which has been happening!
It gets worse. So I decided, after reading about this stuff, to stop shampooing. And I did. And it was fine except for the thinning and the curls loosening, I thought it was just puberty, but that doesn't make sense because when I hit puberty, my hair went from wavy to curly! So anyway I just used the TreSemme Flawless Curls Conditioner with silicones in it, and I never clarified it with shampoo, and on TOP of it all I used moose/gel (Garnier Fructis Curl Construct) and that had silicones in it, too I just realized!
And now my hair is thinning, my curls are loosening, and I know I'm being melodramatic but I feel horrible. Please, please help. Will this all go away if I use a clarifying shampoo and just start over?
Thank you so much for your consideration. Sincerely, a newbie.

Unfortunately, everyone's hair reacts differently to different products, routines, etc. So it's impossible to say that any one suggestion is guaranteed to solve your hair problems. I don't know how old you are, but I'm assuming you're in your teens since you're talking about puberty. Hormones can have a huge impact on hair, so I wouldn't rule that out as possible contributing. First, rule out the obvious. Make sure you're in good general health. Make sure that you are eating a balanced and healthy diet (no crazy fad diets or anything super restrictive). Drink lots of water.

Many sulfate shampoos have coco betaine, which can remove silicones. If you're using something like this, a clarifying wash isn't going to make much of a difference. If you plan to co-wash exclusively you would need a clarifying wash and then make sure that you're not using anything with non-water soluble silicones (ingredients that end in -cone, -conol, or -xane and do not start with PEG or PPG). If you're hair is thin you will probably still want to rotate in a low-poo. Many people with fine and/or thin hair cannot co-wash exclusively. You might also want to consider a protein treatment, especially if your hair is fine in texture or damaged.
