Coconut oil
Using coconut oil for the first time tonight. I've been using CO on my coffee daily and just now decided to use on my hair and face.
I applied to dry hair and wrapped with a grocery bag (yes.. Laugh. I don't have a shower cap or seran wrap at the moment) and topped with a satin cap. I applied heat with my hairdryer and keep massaging it with my fingers through the caps.
Planning on leaving it on overnight.
Tips, comments, review? I cannot wait to see how my hair looks!!!!

Sounds like a great plan! I LOOOOVE CO!!
And I'm not laughing at your bag! I use plastic grocery bags for my treatments all the time! I think they are way better than caps. Sometimes I'll even put a knit cap on over the bag - helps hold the heat in and hold the cap in place.
I put CO on my hair overnight fairly often, though usually it's on dry hair.
I also add it to DT's and PT's all the time!
Let us know how it turns out!!

Oh! Meant to ask - are you washing tomorrow? Sometimes I find after use a lot of CO (especially overnight) I have to low-poo the next day or my hair is too weighed down. I typically only use it in high amounts if I am already due for a low-poo or clarifying wash the next day.
HTH!

Yes, planning on clarifying tomorrow. My only question with that is would it be taking the moisture out that I put in?

No, not in my experience!
You can mix some with your RO, or even a small amount with your LI if you are concerned.
I find the CO helps keep the clarifying poo from stripping my hair.
Also, does your hair like protein? CO oil can help with protein retention!

Unrelated kinda- does clarifying cond strip color?
Excellent idea adding CO to ro or Li!

Clarifying COND? No, I wouldn't think so. Now, I don't color (other than Demi-perm every once in a while), but I wouldn't think it has enough surfactants to strip color.
Clarifying POO might, but when used in moderation as I'm sure it is (no more than once a week?), I don't think you'd have much problem there, either.

I use clarifying condish to cowash and it doesn't seem to strip color.

Enjoy the CO! I use it one time a week, massaging it into my scalp and adding some blow dryer heat then sleeping in it. I also have to do a low poo or regular shampoo after as opposed to a no poo but the CO has made my hair softer and i think stronger is that is possible?!
Btw if u are going out in the sun, put CO on prior- the sun heats it and its amazing !!!

CO would have to be one of my favourite oils. i have a massive collection and use them in every possible way, and CO would have to be my favourite. i dont have any on hand right now, (sad face) but i want to use up same of my other oils before i go spending more money on it.
im protein sensitive and i still love the stuff. ive heard that protein sensitive curlies cant use it, cause it minicks protein or somthing, but i never have had a problem with it.
