Default Damp hair after using shower cap

I've noticed an odd phenomenon with my shower cap. I pineapple my hair and pull the cap down far enough so there aren't any stragglers, and I try not to stick my head under the water. Yet when I finish my shower, the underside of my hair is damp.

Is that just a cheap shower cap, or is this a risk with any shower cap?

Shower caps just prevent water from spraying off your body and on to your hair. When showering with one on you need to be just as careful about getting your head under the water as if you only had it up in a ponytail.

This happens to me too - just this morning actually. I think the water enters by a space behind my ears and pools in the back of the cap a little. I use a bouffant style cap (sexy) that I bought at TJ Maxx, but the same thing happens with the cheapie processing caps too.

you could wrap a soft cloth headband over the edges of the shower cap to absorb any moisture that may leak in.

I think I'll try this, thanks!
