your hair is pulled back, so i can't tell your hair type. roller sets works pretty well for straightening hair naturally

? Hm, well do you have another pic of your hair? Perhaps with it hanging down? Does your naked hair tend to have more ringlets or waves? So far, it looks to be between 2b and 2c

I'm comfortable saying that your hair is between 2b or 2c. Check out this guide to double check!
Hair Types on NaturallyCurly.com
Don't worry about not wanting to go to a hair salon! Most curlies/wavies here at NC.com don't and prefer to trim, cut and/or treat their hair themselves!
Were you hoping to learn how to care for your natural hair? Or were you solely looking to straighten it?

I've heard of using coconut milk and lime juice, but idk how effective that would be. Maybe try this question in the 2a, 2b or 2c thread...?
If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to straighten your hair? Do you plan on keeping it straight every day?

My brother has a very similar wave pattern to yours, and I remember how hard it was for him. Good luck finding a routine that gives you the results that you're looking for.
