Default What do I do now??

My hair was already layered, but the length of it was to my waist. I decided that the ends were looking a little ratty and cut 6 inches off, the first time I've cut it other than a trim in 5 years! (i cut it dry, curl by curl). It was at BSL and I was happy with that.
This morning, I took my shower and did my co wash and style and much to my surprise, my hair has bounced its way right on up to my shoulders
It has gone from a 2c/ 3a to a solid 3a/ 3b mix, and while I don't mind the extra curl, I DO mind the extreme loss of length!! I know it's just a haircut, but I seriously could cry

It's alright! the weight of your hair elongated your curls, so when you cut the weight off, the curls returned to the tighter coil.

The good thing is your hair will most definitely grow back. And I'm sure you and your hair look beautiful regardless!

Oh don't worry dear, it happens to most of us curly gals. I once thought my hair was loose enough to get bangs and what a shock I got when I washed my hair after the cut! Tight curls all up in my face! It was terrible, I had to use rollers overnight to smooth it out.

Your hair will grow and your curls will be looser because of the weight. You can use rollers to make the curls looser or a cocoa keratin smoothing treatment which also makes tight curls looser for about 5 months or so.
