Hi there. I have protein-sensitive hair. I can do protein in small doses (such as a rinse out conditioner), but deep protein treatments lasting longer than 5 minutes seem to cause more harm than good.
One thing I've noticed with consistency is that products containing forms of wheat (hydrolyzed, peptides, gluten) all leave my hair (temporarily) feeling similar to being over-proteined, but not the same. Wheat in styling products and conditioners make my hair feel dry (reduced slip) and a little rough or starchy.
My question to you is:
Do you feel like wheat-containing hair products all seem to contain a starchy microscopic grit that remains on your hair?
