Hi All,

I reside in South Korea and have a severe shortage of CG friendly products here, almost all products have SLS, and most ingredient names are in Korean making life tough for me. I turned CG two days back, using a tiny bottle of body shop rainforest conditioner (Super expensive, and I almost finished it!!) I purchased Organix Shampoo and Conditioner a month back, the shampoo has dimethicone high on its ingredient list, so I guess I'll just have to throw it out However, the conditioner seems promising, has dimethicone- but way below in the list.
"Aqua (water), cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, glycerine, glycol distearate, glycol, stearate, DMDM hydantoin, ceteareth-20, isopropyl alcohol, aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf extract, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, macadamia ternifolia (macadamia) seed oil, hydrolyzed keratin, dimethicone, bambus vulgaris (bamboo) extract, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, parfum, tetrasodium EDTA, cyclotetrasiloxane, methylchloroisothiazolinone, ..."

Can I go CG with this or do I have to resort to shipping from the US? Please , please help me out here!

I'm sorry, but if it has silicones anywhere on the list, it is not CG and it will build up in you hair. So, you can't use that conditioner unless you wash it out with a product with coco bentaine or sulfates.

ETA: Cyclotetrasiloxane is also a cone, like dimethicone.

Thank you rainboe, I guess I'd probably give it away to my straight hair colleagues, all American brands that we get in Korea are super expensive, (anything with an English label here is expensive!) guess I've to live with it!

I feel your pain. I also live in South Korea now. My hair has been going down hill since I ran out of the conditioner I brought with me from The States. One of my co-workers says she is going to look into some organic conditioners for me (her friend is a hair stylest and has connections apparently)... Waiting to see how this goes... I miss my Oregon hair!!

Hi Galadriel,
body shop products seem to be working fine for me. They have english labels on them. Maybe you could give that a shot!

The Body shop has a CG friendly line called Rainforest .. This line of shampoos , conditioners, and stylers are free of sulphates, silicones and parabens. HTH

After using their aloe in my hair, I just didn't think to try any of their other products for my hair. Thanks, ladies, I will try Rainforest out! My curls are pretty much dead after the "lowest winter temps in fifty years" lol.

It's so good to see other cg curliest in SK!
