Default Will my shampoo remove Cyclomethicone?

I kinda relapsed and bought a bottle of the Tigi Curls Rock amplifier (which I used years ago with great results).

I used it on my hair yesterday and it worked awesome! Bouncy curls and zero frizz, even on second hair day. This stuff's by far the best styler I've ever used and I'd really like to use it every time I've washed my hair.

Trouble is, it contains Cyclomethicone.
I've read lots of posts saying Cyclomethicone isn't CG friendly. But I found this article saying it can be easily removed:

http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlre...p-on-silicones

I currently use a shampoo only available in Germany (in case anyone wants to know anyway: Neobio Volumen Shampoo Gingko-Coffein) and here are the ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Lactic Acid, Coco Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Inulin, Sucrose Laurate, Ginkgo Biloba (Leaf Extract), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, Caffeine*, Glycerin, Arginine, p- Anisic Acid, PCA Glyceryl Oleate, Parfum (Essential Oils), PCA-Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate, Maltodextrin, Sodium Chloride, Phytic Acid, Linalool, Limon

So do you think this shampoo will prevent buildup in the long term?

Sorry for the novel, I can never seem to make things short...

There's an article on NC.com that states that cyclo-cones evaporate during the drying process (and therefore shouldn't build up). Typically coco betaine is the main ingredient to look for in a sulfate-free cleanser in order to remove cones, but according to that chart, your shampoo should be fine. Just keep an eye out for any signs that your hair isn't acting right. I love Amplifier and use it about once every week or so.

Thanks for your answer, Corrina! Do you do anything special to prevent build up apart from not using the amplifier too often?

I generally use cleansing conditioners for my co-wash. Curl Junkie Daily Fix and DevaCare (but not DevaCurl) No-Poo both have coco betaine in them, so they'll remove pretty much anything I use, but are still very moisturizing. I also use a gentle sulfate shampoo (Curly Hair Solutions Treatment Shampoo) once a week before my PT/DT. I don't use it to remove buildup, but it's a nice extra benefit. I find that it leaves my hair much softer than most of the sulfate-free shampoos that I've tried.

The rule is stay the course until it stops working for you. Always do what's working.
