Body lotion

Has anyone tried a face or body lotion as a conditioner or hair cream?

Lotions are basically emulsions of water and oil. The really natural conditioners and creams are basically emulsions of water and oil. SOO... Why not?

Sure, you could try it. Hair is anionic. Lotions are typically nonionic. You could try a lotion on your hair, but our hair likes positively charged materials (cationics). These are what condition the hair and make it soft, making detangling easier. Cationics are attracted to the anionic surface of the hair, forming a thin film making it silky soft and shiny. There are some exceptions to this as there are some conditioning nonionic emulsifiers that work well with hair.

Good luck!
