Using mousse only
The past week I have switched to using mousse only. No gel. I tried 3 mousses, and the winner is: Deva styling foam. It held up the best in the heat this week, and mostly I was very satisfied with how my hair looked; full, curly, with a bit of frizz, but tell me who doesnt have frizz in this heat.
And I apologize for my poor site navigation skills, this post appears elsewhere but I was intending to start this as a new post!

It's always great to find a product that works! I have a few mousses myself that I've tested with a variety of products. I think I'm going to test some of them out by themselves this week and see which I like better and if I can get away with just mousse. I am loving Curl Keeper and not real motivated to try anything new right now though.......

Which other mousses did you try? I always use mousse, gels are a no-no for me.

My long standing favorites are still the Condition 3-in-1 Maximum Hold Mousse and Joiwhip. I've always had better luck with mousses over gels. Haven't tried the Deva one yet.

I jumped on the mousse wagon tonight! I'm really starting to hate how gels make my hair feel. I found an old bottle of mousse made by la coupe, I have no idea how long I've had it, lol! I used a bit of KCNT beforehand, but as for the mousse, I had no idea on how to or how much to apply. I'll report back tomorrow evening, good or bad

Starmie, I used Aussome; and Pantene. Aussome was too much in this heat; Pantene did OK but I had frizz by the end of the day, but still, I liked it. But Deva help up well. I have never seen the Joico whip here, I guess I would have to go to Trade Secrets or something, and I know that the 3 in 1 is popular. For those on a budget, I would recommend the Pantene - cheap, and CG friendly. Oh, I also tried the l'oreal Ever Care, but that has cones in it.

Thanks for that, I can't get most of them here though the Pantene might be worth a shot. I always have frizz by the end of the day so that wouldn't worry me too much. It's a pity you can't find Joiwhip, it's the best I've tried and what I always seem to go back to.

I got mine from drugstore.com. I also bought the 3-in-1 from them and I picked some GVP Paul Mitchell sculpting foam at Sally's. I shall try some mousse only when I wash tonight.

Well, my hair feels so much better tonight with a little leave in and some mousse, it's just so much softer! I have to admit, it is quite a bit frizzier, when I compared today's photo to the day before'. I definitely want to order a stronger hold mousse like the Joico by Joiwhip. I could get used to this soft feeling hair ~ for sure!
I wish I knew how to do those side by side photos like everyone does.
