Unhappy Hair will NOTTT stop breaking! Please help! :(

I've had enough. I feel like I might as well just go bald I seriously don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I have done everything to try to prevent this hair breakage.

4 years ago I made a mistake and decided to get my hair relaxed. That didn't work, so 6 months later I just let my hair grow out.
After that I decided to completely go back to my natural hair and I stopped using heat. I rarely straighten or blow dry my hair.

Since the past 2-3 years I have been noticing that my hair has been breaking a lot. It ALWAYS breaks so much in the shower. At first I thought that maybe I wasn't moisturizing it enough. For a year I even decided to do the no-poo method. I used sulfate shampoos or no shampoo at all. Just conditioning and moisturizing. I have done oil treatment. I use evOO daily.

I have trimmed my hair. I tried growing it out and it will break again. I trim as much as I can. I moisturize as much as I can.

I have even tried Carol's Daughter Monoi Shampoo and Conditioner (which is what I"m currently using)

My hair was up to my shoulder, but when I went to get it cut I got it cut more than 1/2 inch cause it was apparently so damaged at the ends...which I don't understand why it was since I thought i was taking care of it.

I even took vitamins. Used products with protein...

I feel like I have done everything, but nothing seems to help.
It's still breaking a lot!!!!! I'm so worried and just want to give up and let myself go bald.

Any advice on what could be wrong?? What should I do?? I love my curls...but I just am so upset about how my hair keeps breaking.
I used to have such nice thick hair.

Sounds so frustrating! I haven't figured out how to tame my frizz either. Have you tried a protein treatment?

How often do you protective style? Do you wear your hair out a lot? Do you sleep with a satin cap or on a satin pillow case?

if your hair is damaged, then the best way to deal with that is too cut it off. maybe your due for a trim? how gentle are you with your hair? it looks like your doing everything right so the only thing i can think of is that your hair is damaged.

I have had the same problem with my daughter's hair. I was so upset about it. Finally about six months ago I discovered Aphogee treatments and did the 2-step (not the real strong one, but the other one I can't think of the name) on a weekly basis. Her hair got so strong and stopped breaking so I stopped using it when I ran out. Just last week the whole back edge and front edges of her hair broke off from her keeping her hair in a ponytail for sports. So I bought some more and did a treatment last night and her hair is strong again after one treatment. I can't praise this stuff enough. It's not cg but I've discovered cg doesn't work for her hair anyway. Btw her hair is SUPER fine, low porosity, low elasticity, dense. It also regains some elasticity with this stuff. I love it!

Right now I am using a spray that I got from Target called Shea Moisture which has protein and is supposed to make the hair strong. It also has hibiscus.

I just tie a scarf on my hair when I go to bed, but I suppose I could look fo ra satin cap?? I haven't done that.

Maybe I could use the 2 step process. I saw that at Sally's...but I'm scared to use it because nothing else seems to work so maybe I'll try it?

I guess my hair is still damaged. I am going to make sure my trims are more regular. I just hope I don't have to chop all my hair off, but maybe its for the best...

I just looked at the bottle. It's the aphogee keratin 2 minute reconstructor. I'm a lil nervous about trying the 2 step on her. But anyway I tried it on me tonight and I really like it on my hair as well. Oh and btw I checked my daughter's hair this evening and it's very soft and feels strong.

What products do you currently use? What's your routine?

You could have a medical problem. Sometimes if some aspect of your health is failing, your hair will reflect it by growing in weaker.

The struggle is real...
I don't always look at products from the "ethnic" haircare isle, but when I do, simple words like "Grow" are intentionally misspelled. Tragic.

I don't know about a medical problem. That was my initial thought, but my doctors have not said anything out of the norm...so I dont know what the issue is. Although I do break out a lot as well so I do wonder if theres any relation with that and hair breakage. Hmmm...
I have been told that my scalp is pretty healthy and there is no issue with that.

But anyways, as for my hair routine these days...

I have been using the Monoi Sulfate Free Shampoo and Conditioner by Carol's Daughter (Once a week). After that I spray the Shea Moisture Hold and Shine Spray in my hair. I also put eVoo in my hair as well.

I do not straighten or blow dry my hair. No heat products at all. I just let my hair air dry.

Thats pretty much all that I have been doing these days. Usually when I go out I will leave my hair down, and then when I'm at home I just put it up.

My hair is up to the lower part of my neck.

I am hoping to get another trim soon!

Ahhhhhh.... :/
