2 Problems... maybe 3

In the shower, and right after I get out. My hair is beautiful. I have 3c hair and it is short. I am growing it out of a mohawk so I would say it is 3 inches elongated all over and 6 1/2 elongated on the top. I have horrible shrinkage and now that I'm writing this it seems to make sense why, but what would stop the shrinkage? I've tried a diffuser but I'm not a fan of it. Maybe because my hair is too short and it increased my shrinkage.

Also I have defined curls but when they dry they get frizzy even with product and look like a ball of dehydrated pooffies. So it looks like I don't have curls at all. What can I do for that?

Also do curls drop? As they get longer do they stretch and drop? For example I suscribe to Mahogany Curls utube channel and my curls look like hers when she had her twa

We are hair twins except my hair frizzes out. Now when her hair is long her curls are much bigger than that.

So in short do curls drop or get bigger as they grow out of your head?
Well, yes and no (how's that for an answer, lol!). Some curlies have hair that gets curlier with length, but this is usually wavies and curlies with looser curls where the length is needed to see the whole curl pattern. People with tighter curls usually notice their curls loosen up some with length, because the weight of the hair is pulling on the curl. It can also depend on the texture of your curls. But there are products that are supposed to help elongate or stretch out curls. KCCC and UFD curly magic are supposed to, and I believe there are several Curl Junkie stylers that do this. I'm sure there are many more, I'm just not familiar with which ones as I'm usually trying for the opposite effect - trying to encourage my whirly curls into ringlets maybe someone with tighter curls can post with some good product recs for you.

fine, dense, normal porosity/elasticity, dry climate

My favorite brands are Kinky Curly, As I am, Curly Kinks, Curl Junkie, and Darcy's Botanicals. Also love sealing with oils (loving argan oil right now) and styling with jelly products (KCCC is my current favorite). Mostly trying to keep it simple!

I think your curls are beautiful! It's possible that they will "drop" as they grow longer and the weight of your hair pulls it down a bit.

If you hair looks and feels dry, you need to provide it with more moisture.

It's good to give more information when your asking asking for help. Do you know your hair properties?? if not, here's a thread to help you determine yours Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics When you know your properties, you can look for others with hair like yours and see what they use. It's a good place to start.

You didn't mention what products your are using. It's possible that they aren't the right products for your hair.

looks like the front of this woman's head. It is loose but still tight. I don't know if it really is 3c or not and this doesn't look like MahoganyCurls hair. So its seems hard for me to find hair twins when I think my true hair texture when it gets longer all over will be like the front.

The woman that is listed as 3c

has different hair than mine or it looks very different. So this aids in my confusion. lol

wait i think i have 4a hair. lol
You're actually discussing curl type and not texture. Texture is if your hair is fine, medium or coarse. Very important for deciding on ingredients/products to use.

Most important thing about type is that in general, the tighter the curl the drier and more fragile the hair. You need to be really careful in handling tightly curled/coiled hair or else the hair will break (a lot easier than looser curls.)

Mahoganycurls has not used shampoo, combs or brushes for 3yrs. (CG method) Only used conditioner to cleanse and style her hair until recently when she added Ecostyler gel so she can get multiple-day hair. Her hair seems very moisturized that's why there's not much frizz. As my hair grew the curls got more stretched so it may happen to you too.
