Highlights?
I really want to get highlights. My hair is a medium brown and it looks a lot better when its a light brown to a dirty blonde(my hair used to be this color and it got darker over the years). I got full head highlights two years using the foil method, but I'm not sure if it ruined my curls because I was wearing my hair straight. I want to get highlights again in september using the foil method. I won't straighten my hair again I'll keep air dry it.
How damage is my hair going to get from getting highlights? And if I keep touching up the roots will I ruin my curls? |
Coat your hair well with coconut oil, argan oil before starting. These oils penetrate your hair deeply, strengthening it and protecting it from damage during the chemical treatment. The oil doesn't interfere with the bleach or dyes. Afterwards, use a low poo (some people just use lots of conditioner) to get the excess oil out. Your hair will be soft and healthy when you're done!

I get foil highlights every six weeks (when I get my haircut.) Don't feel that it affects my curls at all. It's only about 5% of the hair that's actually involved in the process.

Just watch your hair and get a sense of what it needs, if anything. |
