What is better a satin or a silk pillowcase?

there is a whole thread or two or three on this, explaining it. put it in the search box and they should come up.
i can never remember the difference, but i did buy the pillowcases on curlmart and it seems they were the right choice.

I use the cheapest polyester satin pillowcase I could find, and it works great, so I'd say neither is better.

2c/M/ii, porous, good elasticity, random kinks, APL, platinum black.
Loving preening, oils, plopping. Avoiding sulfates, silicones, polymers.

I have both and I prefer my silk pillowcase. My satin one was around $4 at Bed Bath and Beyond and is just OK.

My silk pillowcase I found on Amazon for $19.99 and I really like it. It does a nice job of not taking moisture out of my hair (like my cotton pillowcases do). I can also get 2nd hair if I put my hair in a pineapple and sleep on the silk pillowcase, because it doesn't rough up my hair, something that I can't really achieve as well with my satin case.

If price isn't a barrier, go for silk. If it is, satin is still better at reducing frizz than a cotton pillow case.

Curl Style: 3b/3c
Texture: Fine
Porosity: Normal

Co-wash: Giovanni TTTT (my hair loves this)
RO: GVP CB or DevaCurl One Condition, occasionally with honey
Gel: Biotera Styling Gel, BioSilk RHG
Styling: AG Re:coil, CJ Beauticurls, Lube

Love my silk pillowcases. Hated the satin ones. The satin made me sweaty. Silk is a natural fiber so it is more expensive, but well worth the money IMO.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!

Silk is. It's a natural fibre which can be cooling when it's hot, and warming when it's cold.

Satins made with man-made fibres are still better than cotton as, like silk, they don't pull at your hair or pull moisture out of it. However, they can be hot, and cause you to sweat.

I got mine at Dharma Trading Company. Their prices and service are terrific! Here's a link.

I like both silk and high quality satin. I opted to make my own pillow cases by going to the fabric store and buying the material myself. The prices to purchase cases are just too high!

Oh yeah, I didn't sew anything and used stitch witchery to make my pillow cases and scarfs. Best decision I ever made!
