What to use under BRHG?

My hair is low porosity, fine strands, very dense, the dew points here are high right now and it's frizzy poofball city.

BHRG sounds like what I need, but I'm debating on what I'm going to buy to go under it.

I haven't been using any styling products lately - just conditioner, but I need something ASAP as my hair is getting crazy (dew points are usually moderate here so my hair and I are not used to this).
My hair is not holding its curl at the moment, it's either stringy waves or just a poofball. I did a protien treatment and got clumps today, but they didn't hold up once I went outside and started drying (this is with zero styling products in).

I thought I would just pair KCCC and the BRHG, but then I saw WaterLily's summer routine and she uses KCKT, LALooks Sports Gel, and then BRHG. So leave in, gel, rock hard gelee.

So I'm debating if I should try the KCCC & BRHG or the KCKT, LALSP, & BRHG.

Anyway, what has given you the most reliable results paired with BRHG?

I'm a little styling challenged (hence the conditioner only as of late) so reliable is great.

ETA: I'm also trying to save money, I really really don't want to buy KCKT, KCCC, and BRHG if it's not necessary.

Does your hair tend to get weighed down easily? Or does it tend to love heavy moisture and rich products? That's key to your answer in how and what to layer. My hair cannot handle KCCC in higher dews, even with BRHG on top, but that's because mine is easily weighed down. I did a little better with AIA jelly with it, but not consistently. I'm experimenting with mousse now, with and without gel on top, so that might be a possibility for you, too??? And regarding LI- I don't use it with the jelly products, and with mousse I just use a little of my RO as a LI.

I have been using AG re:coil and AIF under it. So far so good!

2b/2c Thick, med texture, med porosity

CG 7/25/12

Low Poo: TJ TTT Shampoo
CW: TJ TTT Condish
RO: TN, SN Coconut
LI: TN, KCKT
Stylers: AG re:coil, AIF, BRHG, KCCC, AVG, Tresemme FCSG, Lavish Curls
Methods: MysteryFlavored, SMasters, Icequeen,
2nd Day: pineappling w/ claw clip, satin cap, spritz & diffuse, clip roots, dry plop
DT: SheaM Organic Raw Shea Butter DT Masque
it's my HG so I use everything under it - if I need protein than SS PRT - if I need moisture than CJ smoothing lotion or any CJ (deep fix, repair me) - just a bit for LI and then BRHG over it. KCKT might be too light for me. I need a heavy LI
3b/fine/normal porosity/normal elasticity

LOVES behentrimonium methosulfate
(don't ask me to pronounce that!)

Want to grow it long again!
And simply want to figure out this hair of mine!
I used one of my current gels, Mixed Silks Curly Gel, under BRHG along with some LI. There's something about that gel (more like a jelly really) that really takes away the crunchies that hard hold gels can create. It's pretty cheap, around $6 at Sallys and I love it.

In the winter, I was liking LI condish + KCCC + BRHG. KCCC has not been working for me in the summer. I have had some success just with Tresemme Naturals condish as a LI topped with BRHG. I've never grown to like KCKT as a LI (or really for anything).

I wasnt impressed with KCKT either, since people say VO5 is comparable I'm just gonna try that.

My hair is weird and can "drink" a lot of heavy moisturizers, but it takes forever to do it and its a lot better when I use those products by themselves and let them sit for days (it's what I have been doing). But under stylers it tends to get messy - I get white balls on my hair and crunch even without curl definition. In the spring it was ok to use heavy moisturizers as my only styler, but now with these high dews that's not working.

I'm gonna get KCCC and play around with it since it is moisturizing and a styler.

Now let me hope I can find BRHG - my Target is out of stock.

Thanks for your help, I'll be back after I try it.

So I picked up the KCCC, BRHG, and some Vo5 Strawberries & Cream. + Eco styler just because I saw it and it's cheap lol

I tried the KCCC & BRHG once with a little Vo5 left in and I have to say I love the Vo5, my hair smelled amazing, and I had minimal frizz (in dew points at 6! It didn't look 100% how I would like it and it took forever to dry, but I also didn't spread the KCCC though enough.

Thanks Bookworm5!

OMG today I had the best hair day ever! So I decided to use all three - KCCC, Eco-Styler, and BRHG. When I first thought of it I thought I was crazy and would end up with gross buildup and that would take forever to dry. But nope it's perfect and I didn't even need to plop.

It could've been my method of applying or a mixture of both products and method.

Method:

I co-washed, conditioned, then did a super soaker variation: I sectioned my hair and ran water over each section while scrunching to get most of the conditioner out. Then while that section was soaking wet I smoothed/gently raked in a little KCCC and gently scrunched so that some excess water and product came out out, smoothed in a little ES and scrunched that so more water and product came out, then finally smoothed in a dab of BRHG and scrunched that until I felt that all of the excess water was gone. I did this in sections to make sure that the products were evenly distributed (I have dense hair). I then clipped the section up close to my head when I was done with it (to get it out of the way while I got dressed). I think the clipping helped because it was kind of like that same "accordion" effect as the plop. I also got great volume and bounce!

I'm just so excited because I haven't had a good hair day in so long. No frizz!
