Satin Pillowcases and Acne

Hi all! I saw a post on this topic, but no one seemed to address the acne issue. Has anyone had an acne/breakout flare up when switching to a satin pillowcase? I have been experiencing a lot of fresh breakouts on my jaw, chin, and neck. It started to flare up when I started CG, but was going away. The past 2-3 nights I have slept on a satin pillowcase and it is getting worse again. I am wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and what you did to eliminate it. Thanks!

Interesting. Love to know if others have seen this connection!

You are beautiful!
If you're using a satin pillowcase made with synthetic fibre, that could be because the material is nonabsorbent. I don't know if its generating heat (and increasing sweat) would be a factor.

I use a satin pillowcase made with synthetic fibers and I'm not experiencing any acne, but one time I tried an overnight oil treatment and woke up with a gross and extremly oily pillow.
i'm experiencing the same thing! i sleep on my side/stomach and the breakouts are getting out of control.

i'm going to try switching out pillowcases more often and washing them more frequently. or just sleep on your back.
3c-4b. probably.
medium/coarse texture.
(extremely)high density.
low porosity, normal elasticity.
co-wash: suave naturals daily clarifying condish with drops of rosemary oil.
detangling conditioner: tresemme naturals.
deep conditioner: curly kinks curlycue renew, b.a.s.k. cacao bark, honey/evoo.
I was going to suggest if maybe you have product in your hair its staying on the surface of your pillowcase and transferring to your face.

It's so frustrating. I guess I am going to have to ditch that pillowcase and opt for some more natural (and expensive!) silk ones.

Interesting. I've never had a sty in my life and over the past 2 months I've had about 5. I wonder if it's related.
