the thrill of a good cut!

I have been growing out a pixie cut for months, and I have been modified CG the entire time. I've been less than happy with my curls. I know what my curls "should" look like (or what they looked like full of -cones) but I was finding limp, stringy, just not-quite-right curls. I tried all sorts of products and techniques, tried protein-starving it, protein-filling it, less conditioner, more conditioner - I'm sure many of you can relate.

I was ready to toss in the towel - my hair looked (for lack of a better word) just crappy. I was ready to go embrace cones and sulfates.

My last ditch effort was going to get a cut - I hadn't had it cut since early November (when we'd taken a razor to it)...

I'm soooo happy I did that and did not go back to cones. My stylist told me over and over to "just keep doing what you are doing, I can't believe how healthy your hair is, so conditioned - esp. for a curly"

My hair needs length to curl, I'm pleased my curls are showing up again - hoping that as it grows out it'll get even better!

i think your hair looks great!! nice curls, healthy!!! your stylist was right.
and, i loved the title of your thread, 'the thrill of a good cut," perfect!!

and your signature says you are 'in the 2s.' well, not anymore! it looks like you are a 3a, from both the curls and the needing length to curl. so many of us 3as thought we were wavies til we 'went cg!!'

it will only get better! as my stylist says, "it is 50% the products and 50% the cut."

I couldn't agree with you more!

The nerves, the dread, the "I have to see how it looks after I wash/low-poo/style it at home......" all of it!
